PLAYERS: Shaun Rogers
TEAMS: New York Giants
Jenny Vrentas of The Star-Ledger reports this evening that the New York Giants have brought back injury plagued DT Shaun Rogers for a reported one-year deal. Despite jettisoning several veteran players this past week, the Giants decided to offer Rogers an incentive laden one-year deal. Rogers was on the Giants injured reserve list for all of the 2012 season while dealing with a blood clot and has played just five games since 2009. New York signed Rogers to a very affordable deal reportedly worth just $1.005 million. However that money is only guaranteed if Rogers does not wind up on the injured reserve list again next season. If Rogers is placed on IR, his salary will drop to just $433.000. This was a solid move by the Giants. When he is able to play, the 13-year veteran is a very disruptive force, but the key there is “when” he’s able to play.

Chris Canty met with the Titans, scheduled to visit the Chiefs

According to Mike Garafolo of USA Today Sports, former Giants defensive tackle Chris Canty met with the Titans over the weekend and is now scheduled to meet with the Chiefs. Canty is a versatile player that can play in a 3-4 or 4-3 defense.  I honestly believe he’s a better fit in a 4-3 as a defensive tackle than a 3-4 defensive end. The Pros and Cons of Signing Osi Umenyiora

I get into a bad mood every time I hear this guy's name. However, if you can not beat them, join them. Or pay them enough to join you. The Patriots obviously have struggled on defense to get pressure on the quarterback and keep good coverage on the opposing wide receivers, thus they make quarterbacks like Mark Sanchez look like superstars. Chandler Jones provided a small spark...
