A few weeks ago, Notre Dame LB Manti Te’o became the center of media attention but not for his play on the football field. It was revealed the Te’o was involved in a “catfishing” scheme and had become involved with a woman online that didn’t exist. In the wake of the recent media scrutiny, many have speculated as to how his involvement in this hoax might affect his status for the upcoming 2013 NFL Draft. Speaking exclusively to USA Today while preparing for the NFL Combine at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, Te’o says that he is putting all of those issues behind him and he doesn’t think that matter will affect his status.
