NFL Trade Rumors:
The Oakland Raiders have announced that they’ve signed FB Marcel Reece a three-year contract extension.
Reece, 28, was in the final year of his contract and is set to make $1.423 million for the 2013 season. This new deal will keep him under team control through the 2016 season.
According to Pro Football Focus, Reese was the No. 2 fullback in the league last season and was effective in all three phases — rushing, receiving and blocking. Reese’s overall versatility was probably one of the most factors to him getting an extension, given that it’s becoming harder and harder for fullbacks around the league to keep their jobs.
We’ll have the contract details as soon as they’re available.

Somewhere in that house of thrills in the sky, Al Davis is smiling. For short spurts the mystique of the Raiders was back. His last draft pick was Terrelle Pryor and on Sunday he showed a lot of people why Mr. Davis wanted him. Mr. Davis would be even more proud of his attitude. Looking back in Oakland in 1979, You would have thought the sky was falling. After their...

The biggest weakness for the Oakland Raiders over the last dreadful decade has been their run defense. Reggie McKenzie hired Dennis Allen as the Raiders first defensive minded head coach since John Madden because of Allen’s hybrid defensive schemes. Last year’s Raiders defense was once again atrocious which is why the Raiders have brought in 9 new starters on defense. While...
Hello again Raider Nation. Week 2 is upon us and with it comes another interesting slate of AFC West matchups. Last week I went 3-1 picking AFC West games, losing foolishly by picking the Ravens to upset the Broncos. This week’s games are a little tougher to predict, but I’ll do my best. I keep checking my mailbox for the […]
Despite leaving the Lucas Oil Stadium with a loss last Sunday, the Oakland Raiders surprised a lot of people with the way they played against the widely favorites Indianapolis Colts. The Silver & Black conceded a 14-point deficit early in the second quarter, but responded with 17 straight of their own led by the new starting quarterback, Terrelle Pryor. But […]

What up RaiderNation? Welcome to this week’s edition of My Two Cents, with your favorite senior citizen Raider fan, Old Timer. I know you all are disappointed with the loss last week; I was too, but I saw a lot of promise and my hope grew stronger with the way the team played. That is what this article is about. […]
Unless their bullpen has anything to do with it, the A’s appear on track for a second consecutive year of October baseball. That’s good news for A’s fans. Not so much for Sebastian Janikowski, aka Grumpy McGrumperson. You see, Bud Selig isn’t the only one who’s hardly thrilled when the A’s make the playoffs. That’s because Janikowski allegedly hopes they never make...
It’s as if the late owner Al Davis is haunting this team from beyond. After losing their best offensive lineman, LT Jared Veldheer, they have been scrambling to find the right guys to help make Darren McFadden relevant. The job just became tougher as their starting RT, rookie Menelik Watson, will be out for up to a month after undergoing a procedure to fix a torn lateral meniscus...
Oakland Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski has kicked off the infield dirt at the Coliseum for so long now that it's become almost second nature to him.
That's why Janikowski was surprised - and a bit angry - to read a published report saying he annually roots for the Oakland Athletics to miss the playoffs so the dirt can be replaced with sod.
The Raiders are the only...
Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) at Oakland Raiders (0-1)
One of the most powerful trends in betting is known as the six and six trend, meaning teams who finish with 6 wins or fewer are 25-69 ATS as favorites of 6 or more since 2002. There are two issues with this trend. One, it’s very rare (it only happened 7 times all last season, going 2-5 ATS). Two, it’s even rarer that a situation...
The Raiders put up a great fight versus the Jacksonville Jaguars and the offense looked light years ahead of last year’s poorly run unit. The defense also did better than expected against Andrew Luck and a Colts offense that looks like it can score some points when it’s in sync.
This week may be the only time this season that the Raiders are favored but the game comes against...
