The New England Patriots, for the second consecutive week, barely escaped with a win against a division rival last night. A win is a win of course, and for the club they’re now 2-0 with a reasonable assurance of another W in week 3. Quarterback Tom Brady was more or less his typical self against the Jets, displaying poise in the pocket and identifying the open read against the Jets D, its just that the open guy wasn’t catching the ball. The run game struggled, too. With news that free agent addition Danny Amendola seems unlikely to suit up for at least week three and likely beyond, this unsteady performance seems likely to continue. With it being reported on Thursday's pregame show and discussed by Chris Wesseling that Gronk could play next week and seems to be a lock for week four, he should be a sought after commodity. There are no guarantees that the premiere Tight End will remain healthy for the duration of the season but with few other trusted targets in New England we have to assume that he will be set up for his typical workload as soon as he is ready. Perhaps the Gronkowski owner in your league hasn’t heard the news just yet. If so, the time is now to try to swing a deal, rather than going hunting next week when the price goes up. You could see in Brady’s body language tonight, he is dying for a guy he can trust to catch the well thrown passes that are directed to them. Number 87 is that guy, and you’ll want him on your roster when he returns.
