Yesterday, we told you that Oakland Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain was arrested again in his hometown of Decatur, Alabama. Today, more details have emerged as to why Rolando McClain was arrested yesterday.
On Tuesday, McClain was pulled over because the tinting on his car was over the legal limit and was too dark. According to USA Today, McClain then produced a letter from a doctor saying that the linebacker needed more tint on his car because he had photo-sensitivity, in defense of his tint. The police officer said it was invalid because it was not written in the prescription pad.
When the police officer gave McClain a ticket for his tinted windows, he refused to sign his name and instead wrote a profane message at the bottom.
According to the police, McClain scrawled “F**k y’all” at the bottom of his ticket. McClain also refused to give the officer his license and insurance information, instead saying “you know who I am”.
According to police spokesman Lt. John Crouch, when the Raiders linebacker was asked to sign his real name, he proceeded to tell the officer that it was his real name.
Because of not signing his real name, McClain was taken to jail and released later in the day on a $1,000 bail.
McClain could have avoided being taken into jail if he would have signed his real name. When he was released from jail yesterday, he had a few comments about the law enforcement of Decatur, Alabama.
“I’m falsely accused of everything,” the Oakland Raiders linebacker said before climbing into his white Chevrolet Silverado Z-71 and driving from the parking lot of City Hall. “It’s corrupt. It’s terrible.”
McClain was also asked by reporters if he believed the police were out to get him to which he replied “Yes. You said it. I answered it”.
Whether or not McClain is being targeted by the police, this is his second arrest in his hometown of Decatur, Alabama.
