PLAYERS: Royce White
TEAMS: Houston Rockets
Royce White is yo-yoing back and forth between the D-League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers after a miscommunication had him thinking he was going to finish the year out in Hosuton working out in preparation for next year. It is becoming less and less likely that the Rockets' 16th overall pick in this year's draft will log any time for his team this year. The constant back and forth between the talented forward and the team about the best way to manage his anxiety disorder has opened up discussions about mental health issues in sport. That has been a great positive of all this. However, White has also struggled at various times to keep his emotions in check, often taking to Twitter to vent his frustrations. He has come off as both an advocate and unprofessional. He stayed away from the Rockets while things straightened out before finally reporting to the Vipers. In 12 games, he averaged 9.6 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game in 25.9 minutes per game. White was ...

He was on Twitter most of the weekend complaining about the D-League and saying he was preparing for next season. This report  is from The Monitor who has been covering Royce White in the D-League, says...

Royce White back with the D League Rio Grande Valley Vipers after leaving without permission

Guess what? Royce White is back in the D League. What happened this time? Apparently the Rio Grande Valley Vipers knew nothing of White’s “Dr. orders” to leave the team and return to Houston. Oh Royce… At the risk of earning his second suspension without pay this season, White planned to be in uniform for the Vipers game Tuesday night against Tulsa. If you missed my ...

James Harden’s latest urban vixen, Kyra Chaos

Real talk, as far as life on the court and outside of the game goes, NOBODY is having a better year than James harden. Harden cashed out with the Rockets earlier this season following a trade from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Has evolved his game to one of the top shooting guards in the league, he’s leading the Rockets charge to the playoffs and then, there’s the ladies. It started...

Video: Rockets’ Greg Smith dunks all over Tiago Splitter

Tweet In his second-year out of Fresno State, Greg Smith is still not a household name by any means, averaging just 14.1 minutes and 5.4 points per game this season for the Houston Rockets. That still didn’t stop him from trying to get his own poster on Sunday night against the Spurs: Is that probably [...]

James Harden Hits Game-Winner To Beat Spurs

The Rockets now hold a three game lead over the Lakers for the seventh spot in the Western Conference thanks to their All-Star, James Harden. Along with 29 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks, Harden knocked down a game-winning jumper with just under five seconds remaining to give the Rockets a 96-95 victory over the best team in the Western Conference Sunday.

Video: Rockets' Smith puts Splitter on a poster

It must be the month of posterizations in the NBA. Not only did we have the DeAndre Jordan dunk on Brandon Knight and the LeBron James facial on Jason Terry now we can add Rockets' Greg Smith to the list of dunkers who decimated players in the paint. During last night's Spurs-Rockets matchup, the game was still hotly contested when the Rockets were heading back on...

CC video of the day: James Harden's game-winning shot vs. Spurs

Heading into the contest versus the Spurs, the Rockets probably were not given much of a chance considering the Spurs have won the first three meetings this season. However, the game turned into an exciting one with both teams going toe-to-toe for four quarters and just when it seemed San Antonio was on the verge of sweeping Houston, James Harden came through in the clutch. In...

The Beard Strikes Down The Spurs

I absolutely admire these type of plays.  James Harden was clearly trying to draw some contact to get to the charity stripe to tie or take the lead, instead the official doesn't call the foul.  This would have been a foul if it had not been the last 10 seconds of the game. Anyway, Harden makes the bucket to the give the Rockets the lead and ultimately the victory. Game. Set. Beard.

The Race Home...

12 games to go.  LA are in 8th, 2 games ahead of Utah and Dallas in 9th/10th.  3 games behind Houston for 7th.  The smoke's beginning to clear away now, and it looks like predictions of the Lakers making the playoffs will be on the mark.  Hell... it's not like picking contenders for the Kentucky Derby - it's a pretty good bet now that the Lakers will make it. ...
