The number six overall draft pick from the 2013 June NBA draft has yet to make a professional debut. Nerlens Noel was taken by New Orleans, then traded to the Philadelphia 76ers for All-Star Jrue Holiday. The 6'10" center from the University of Kentucky tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in February. Since the media day on October 10, Noel has not spoken to Philadelphia media, but has told Sirius/XM Radio that no decision has officially been made about the timetable for his debut.John Finger of CSN Philadelphia reports Noel says, "There is a possibility" for his NBA debut.“We’re just taking our time with it, being cautious with things," he said. "I’m definitely worried about my health, but in regards to the whole season, you know, that decision hasn’t been made up. I still have to meet up with my doctors, Dr. (James) Andrews, Dr. Kevin Wilk, and come to a conclusion with that.”Nerlens Noel has spent the season working with Sixers' head coach Brett Brown and assistant coach Greg Foster on a new shooting technique. He has also been studying the positioning and footwork of opponents while sitting on the sidelines. Noel has traveled with the team all season and worked with Michael Carter-Williams while he has been on the shelf with a right knee infection and soreness. Coach Brown is encouraged with the faces of the franchise and the future of the Sixers. At the beginning of the season, coach Brown and the 76ers said they did not anticipate Noel to play in a game during the 2013-14 campaign.  However, Brown might not mind seeing his rookie in uniform a bit earlier than he expected.

Rumor: Hawes to Rockets, Asik to Celtics?

If tonight’s matchup between the Sorry Sixers (7-15) and the Nasty Nets (8-15) fails to excite you, Marc Stein’s latest trade rumor should. Per Stein, the Boston Celtics are now expected to be a major player in the Omer Asik sweepstakes. Couple this rumor with the ceaseless speculation regarding the Sixers’ probable involvement, and we may have ourselves a couple of interesting...

Philadelphia 76ers continue to struggle defensively

Brett Brown’s first year with the Philadelphia 76ers has not been easy thus far. His team is young, inexperienced, and lacks NBA caliber depth that is mandatory in playoffs. Last night’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers was a defensive disaster. Because size and strength have shown to be a weakness for the young Philly team, defensive holes have been easily exposed by...

76ers Taking time with Michael Carter-Williams

Philadelphia is not going to rush their star rookie point guard Michael Carter-Williams back from a right knee infection despite going just 1-9 in games the 22-year-old does not play. He has missed a total of 10 games so far this season between a left arch bruise and a right knee infection and with no practice on Sunday, the 76ers will likely sit him out Monday's game against...

Tony Wroten and seven under-owned fantasy player; also, the most-added players

Tony Wroten isn't getting the love he should in fantasy leagues (image: Philadelphia 76ers). Some guys just don't get the respect that they deserve in fantasy leagues. Here are eight guys whose values exceed their ownership percentages. If they're on your wire, give them a look. 1.  Tony Wroten (56.9% ESPN, 30% Yahoo): Wroten has filled in admirably for Michael Carter...

76ers Nerlens Noel Thinks There’s A Chance He Can Play This Season

I wouldn’t bet on seeing Nerlens Noel play one minute this season, but there’s nothing wrong with him being an optimist. Noel, who hasn’t played a minute while rehabbing his knee, said Monday that there’s a chance he could see some action later this season. “There’s a possibility,” Noel told SiriusXM NBA Radio. “We’re just taking our time with it, being cautious...

Sixers' Tony Wroten receives flop warning from the NBA

Sometimes, physical activity can be very tiring and you need to make sure to pace yourself so you don't overdo it. I think that's what Philadelphia 76ers' point guard Tony Wroten was doing against the Toronto Raptors when he took a 3-pointer and decided to lounge a little bit on the ground. He either decided to lounge or he fell to the ground hoping to draw a foul in...
