If you believe the news, PK Subban, aka The Subbanator, is the 2012-13 Norris Trophy Winner. Well done Mr. Subban. Well deserved. For anyone who does not see PK regularly, this guy plays his guts out night in, night out. Along with many fans, I am quite interested to see how Hockey Night in Canada reacts, as they have been one of the few outlets to continue harping on PK as being 'disrespectful' and 'childish,' amongst other things. At certain points this year, Elliotte Friedman, Kevin Weeks and Ron MacLean did stand up for Subban, however, PJ Stock, Glenn Healy and many others regularly put down Subban for, more than anything else, being different.  So, congratulations to Mr. Subban, a player who inspires many an opinion, but plays his guts out every night. Many will say Marc Bergevin made a mistake not signing him long term. Perhaps, but here's a thought: maybe the short term contract spurred Subban on, and without the inspiration of a management team that sa...

Eric Engels: Subban's Norris, Team Canada, Cup Finals

1) Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet has reported that P.K. Subban has officially won the Norris Trophy. In hindsight, Subban's bridge deal was never about humbling the young man. It was always about the declining cap next season and what was affordable in the short-term. The Habs could've had Subban at five years, five million per. It's not as though Marc Bergevin assumed...

Oops? P.K. Subban leaked as Norris winner

It seems like every year the NHL leaks something on accident. Usually it's clothing designs, like what the conference or Stanley Cup champion gear looks like. A few years ago they leaked the NHL Award Winners via t-shirts on, because who doesn't want to commemorate Alex Ovechkin's Hart Trophy with a tacky shirt that no one will buy? This year the awards will...

Travis Yost: Five Thoughts

Make sure to follow Travis on Twitter! -- (1) Announcements for a bunch of National Hockey League awards will be coming during the next week or so, and early leaks already have Montreal's P.K. Subban taking down the Norris Trophy. I do expect Ottawa to come home with some hardware, particularly head coach Paul MacLean's bid at the Jack Adams. MacLean was nominated one...
