One of these days, the Detroit Tigers are going to score double-digit runs when Doug Fister is pitching. Fister certainly deserves it. But that night was not Monday night in Kansas City. It looked somewhat promising when Miguel Cabrera hit his 18th home run of the season, a two-run shot, in the third inning to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead. They were the first runs the Tigers had scored for Fister since May 25. "I hung two but he only hit one of them out," Jeremy Guthrie said on the postgame show. "He's swinging the bat well. I made a bad mistake and he didn't miss it." Unfortunately for Fister and the Tigers, that did not last long at all. The Royals came right back in their half of the third to score three runs, two on a triple by Salvador Perez and the winning run on Lorenzo Cain's single to shortstop Jhonny Peralta.
