The Connecticut Huskies don’t have a whole lot to play for this season. Other than a few guys being able to showcase their talent and impress NBA scouts, the 2012-13 season is pretty meaningless for UConn. UConn was declared ineligible to play in the postseason in 2013 because of a low academic-rating. The University appealed the decision twice, but the NCAA stood their ground. Not only can the UConn not play in the NCAA tournament, the Huskies aren’t even eligible for the Big East tournament. Although the Huskies won’t appear in the post season, regardless of how well they do in the regular season, UConn has the opportunity to play spoiler. They’ve now beat two ranked teams this season, which matches their total for last season. With no opportunity for post-season accolades, a win over a No.1 ranked team would be the highlight of the year for the Huskies. We won’t know for sure until later this afternoon, but it certainly seems that Louisville will be at No. 1 in both major polls. ...
