Packers cornerback Tramon Williams has been sidelined since late June with a bone bruise in his knee. Williams believes he’ll be ready for the Packers season opener against the 49ers. “I think so, I think so,” Williams said, via the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “I’ve never really thought about that. I thought I’d be playing now. But I think so.” Williams says he’s been “progressing” and he’s not worried. “Obviously, if it was up to me I’d be practicing,” Williams said. “But it’s something that you never want to rush, especially a bone bruise. It’s pretty painful. Those things are pretty painful. So you have to be careful with those things. A lot of guys who have had them, research-wise, it kind of lingers for a while. So you don’t want to come right back on it. I’m just trying to take my time with it at this point and continue to get treatment. It’s starting to feel better by the day, so that’s all I can ask for. “D-Wade was one of the guys who had it. Obviously, i

Charles Woodson, a former teammate of Aaron Rodgers, weighed in on the criticism the quarterback has faced regarding his leadership.

Undrafted WR Tyrone Walker continues to impress for Packers

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- It didn't take long for Tyrone Walker to feel that he was making a good impression on the Green Bay Packers' coaching staff. Brought in on a tryout basis to the Packers' rookie orientation camp in May, Walker immediately performed better than a typical undrafted wide receiver who was just hoping to earn a non-guaranteed contract. "Probably the...

Jeremy Ross has excellent chance to become Packers returner

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- At the start of training camp, the Green Bay Packers were hoping that someone would perform well enough that Randall Cobb could be removed from special teams return duties. Jeremy Ross is getting very close to allowing the Packers to do just that. "I think Jeremy has an excellent chance," coach Mike McCarthy said Thursday. Two weeks ago, McCarthy had...

Packers' Tramon Williams should be ready for opener

Tramon Williams is expected to start at a corner this season. He had been a top corner in the league since gaining a starting position in 2009 but his production slipped in 2012. He entered this off-season looking to regain his 2010 form when he took the league by storm and made the Pro-Bowl. Unfortunately, the seven-year veteran suffered a setback in late July when he injured his...

Graham Harrell vs. Vince Young for the No. 2 quarterback job In Green Bay's first preseason game, Young wasn't asked to do much. Being with the Packers for only three practices didn't allow Young...

Vince Young starting to look good in practice

According to FOX Sports Wisconsin,  Packers quarterback Vince Young is starting to look pretty good in practice. During an individual drill in which the quarterbacks faked a handoff and rolled out to throw a pass into the target netting, Young was on top of his game. Rolling to his left and throwing across his body, Young went 3 for 3 in the drill, successfully landing each of his...

Green Bay Packers: Offense needs to score points

Randall Cobb (Photo Credit: Jeffrey Phelps/AP) During the first preseason game, the Green Bay Packers first team offense played well, driving the ball down the field against the Arizona Cardinals.  Even though they drove right down the field, that productive series resulted in zero points, after James Starks was stuffed on a fourth and goal at the one yard line.  Once the first...

Packers 53 Man Roster Predicition Update: Preseason Week 1

The first game of the Packers season is in the books.  Even though it was a 17-7* preseason loss to the Arizona Cardinals (yeah, um James Starks scored, watch the replay on NFLN) there were some real positives to take away from that game.  The defense minus Davon House (what the hell Davon) played well. New LT David Bakhtiari acquitted himself nicely against a very good defense...

Packers vs Rams: What to Watch For

The Packers first preseason game did not go as smoothly as most would have hoped.  They were shut out 17-0 at home at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals, and aside from their first offensive possession they were unable to sustain drives when Aaron Rodgers exited the game. As coach Mike McCarthy said after the game there was plenty of room to grow, and he was right, but where exactly...

Aaron Rodgers: “I feel bad for Johnny Manziel”

The Johnny Manziel reality show has had everyone in the sports world talking. The latest person is Aaron Rodgers who was asked about the media by Peter King but went on to talk about Johnny Manziel: “I feel bad for Johnny Manziel. I mean, he’s made some decisions … I just think, he’s a 20-year-old kid, and I wish he could just live like a 20-year-old. “Ten years ago, when...

Aaron Rodgers: I feel bad for Johnny Manziel

When it comes to the many adventures of Johnny Manziel, there are generally two lines of thought. On one side, you have people who think he is a spoiled college kid who needs to focus less on partying and more on football. On the other, there are people who say a 20-year-old kid is entitled […]
