Bush League Chronicle:
A seventh inning hitting appearance by Cal State Fullerton's Austin Kingsolver turned into a painful one over the weekend.Kingsolver had worked the count full before Arizona State pitcher Jose McAlister let a slider get away from him and sent the pitch whizzing into Kingsolver's man region. Listen closely and you can ever the sound of impact. Ouch is an understatement.Luckily, Kingsolver was able to walk it out and take his free base. But that doesn't mean there aren't any lingering effects right now.The good news for Kingsolver and Fullerton is that they wound up upending Arizona State for the right to advance to Super Regional play. They will host the UCLA Bruins for a best of three series beginning Friday. The winner advances to the College World Series in Omaha.Via SportsGrid

But that’s exactly what happened to Kingsolver, as a McAlister slider came way, way in on the left-handed hitter, nailing him in the sweet spot, so to speak.
Cal State Fullerton has been one of the best teams in college baseball throughout the season, and the Titans are preparing for their Super Regional against UCLA this weekend. I was talking with my uncle about the series since it features two local teams and players with whom we are familiar. One thing he pointed [...]
Video: Hurts just watching
Cal State Fullerton’s Austin Kingsolver only got two plate appearances in Sunday’s game against Arizona State, and he probably wishes that he could have skipped the first one. In his first at-bat in the seventh inning, Kingsolver took a 3-2 slider from Arizona State pitcher Josh McAlister straight to the family jewels, or the “midsection” according to the much more mature...
