It took all of nine minutes for the Reds (7-7) to upend the Phillies (6-8) in a suspended game on Tuesday.
On Monday, the two clubs played 8 1/2 innings of scoreless baseball before Mother Nature unleashed a torrential downpour over Cincinnati. The umpiring crew cleared the field and called for a delay, which eventually turned into rescheduling the conclusion of the game for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
When play resumed Tuesday, Philadelphia's Phillippe Aumont took the mound, and then Reds shortstop Zack Cozart led off the inning with a walk. Joey Votto then followed with another walk and Brandon Phillips reached base thanks to an error by Phillies center fielder Ben Revere.
This loaded the bases for Jay Bruce, who was 0-for-3 in the game entering the at-bat. But he came through in grand fashion by stroking the first pitch he saw into right field for a single. Cozart scored and the Reds won in walk-off style.

Such is the case with Johnny Cueto and Tony Cingrani -- the latter of which figures to replace Cueto's spot in the rotation once the time comes.
On Monday, the Reds promoted RHP Justin Freeman from Triple-A Louisville to provide some help to a weary bullpen. However, Cingrani is expected to make Cueto's next scheduled start...

On December 11, 2012, Shin-Soo Choo was brought to the Cincinnati Reds along with Jason Donald in a three team, nine player trade that also involved the Arizona Diamondbacks. The trade sent former Reds center fielder, Drew Stubbs, to in-state rival Cleveland.
As the season drew closer, there were many questions as to how Choo would fair in center field and as a leadoff man in the...

MLB News: On Thursday the Cincinnati Reds recalled reliver Tony Cingrani from Triple-A Louisville, swapping out Justin Freeman for him. Cingrani gets his first major league start Thursday night after dominating Triple-A talent early on this year. Freeman, who was called up a few days ago had enough time to enjoy a quick cup of coffee and nothing else.

The Reds enjoyed a full season of healthy starting pitching on their way to an NL Central crown last season. This year is already a different story, though, as they'll have to do without their Opening Day starter for at least the next 15 days. Cincinnati placed right-hander Johnny Cueto on the disabled list Monday with a strained back muscle he suffered over the weekend.

When the Reds game ended tonight, Todd Frazier’s OPS sat exactly on the beautiful .900 number.
He has become a middle of the order hitter, and he’s done it his way just like Sinatra. The Toddfather’s way is **** swings. Borderline flailing at pitches. Wasting a guy’s best stuff with your worst. When he’s not suspecting it and his back is turned, you pull out your Tommy...

Homer Bailey and Kyle Kendrick were nothing short of spectacular tonight. After an hour and twenty minute rain delay in Cincinnati, the two starters squared off, and the duel bagan.
