From now until the end of time–or until the electricity bill gets too high–those wandering about State College, Pa. will be able to look up into the sky at night and find Beaver Stadium by the fluorescent glow of a massive Nittany Lion logo.
Penn State has installed two huge glow-in-the-dark logos atop its football stadium. Tuesday night, the light-up signs were turned on for the first time.
The light-up signs are part of a $10 million renovation project for Beaver Stadium that includes full-screen, high-definition video panels, a new sound system, closed-captioning boards below the scoreboard, and the back-lit logo.

Most of the time, fan-made college football hype videos are sub-par compared to school-produced clips. But every once in a while, the script is flipped. Last week, a Penn State supporter named Alec Berger put together a two-minute Nittany Lions hype video that makes use of the famous Lion King track “Circle of Life”. According to a report by PennLive’s David Jones, Penn State athletics director Dave Joyner will resign. Joyner assumed the position in November of 2011, when then-AD Tim Curley was placed on administrative leave for his role in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal. Joyner assumed the position after being a member of the university’s Board of Trustees...
It’s never too early to talk Penn State football. And in mid June, I couldn’t think of a better time than now to rank the top 50 Penn State football players of all time. With “Linebacker U.” there’s a whole lot of legends to choose from at that one position alone: Shane Conlan, Courtney Brown, Jack Ham, LaVar Arrington, etc. etc. etc.
What about the running backs: Blair...
