The Virginia Tech Hokies are not taking Duke lightly as an opponent this week. The Blue Devils are off to a nice 5-2 start to the season, and travel to Blacksburg riding a three-game winning streak.  Part of the the reason for Duke’s nice start is their offensive success. The Blue Devils are currently averaging over 35 points per game, and do a fairly decent job of not turning the ball over. However, when speaking to the media tonight, Virginia Tech defensive coordinator Bud Foster talked up the Duke offense as if it were Baylor’s — here’s what he had to say: #Hokies DC Bud Foster says Duke has most efficient offense: “Alabama’s got great talent. These guys have good talent but great coaching.” — Mike Barber (@RTD_MikeBarber) October 24, 2013 I don’t know that Alabama is the first team that comes to mind when I look for an offensive comparison for Duke, but it’s safe to say that Foster thinks very highly of Duke’s capabilities. He’s right in saying that the players aren’t as talented as the Tide, and at least this year, the coaching seems to be great on the offensive side of the ball. Foster isn’t sleeping on the Blue Devils, that’s for sure. You can watch Duke take on No. 14 Virginia Tech at 3:30 EST on Saturday on ESPNU.
