Sunday was not Brandon Merriweather's day. Not only did his team get spanked by Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, but he ended up getting his bell rung so hard that he was knocked out of the game with a concussion.  But that's not where the pain ends for Merriweather. Early in the game he nailed Packers running back Eddie Lacy (see above). As you can see he ducks his head and leads with the crown of his helmet as he makes contact; text book hit on a defenseless player and sure to garner a fine. I don't know if the NFL takes this into consideration, but since the hit knocked Lacy out of the game with a concussion he should get fined a little extra. It's one thing to commit the foul, but when it has that kind of affect on a player--just the thing the NFL is trying to avoid--it should cost more. Lacy's injury opened the door for fellow rookie Jonathan Franklin to get some more work in as well as James Starks. Later in the game ...
