Sunday was not Brandon Merriweather's day. Not only did his team get spanked by Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, but he ended up getting his bell rung so hard that he was knocked out of the game with a concussion.
But that's not where the pain ends for Merriweather.
Early in the game he nailed Packers running back Eddie Lacy (see above). As you can see he ducks his head and leads with the crown of his helmet as he makes contact; text book hit on a defenseless player and sure to garner a fine.

Lacy's injury opened the door for fellow rookie Jonathan Franklin to get some more work in as well as James Starks. Later in the game ...

Packers running back Eddie Lacy suffered a concussion on his first carry Sunday against the Redskins and is done for the day.Fantasy Spin:Lacy was expected to see 20-plus carries in the game after handling just 14 last week, but he'll finish with one carry for 10 yards due to the injury. James Starks, not Johnathan Franklin, was the first man in to replace Lacy.
While many people probably have Eddie Lacy on their fantasy team, James Starks the University of Buffalo grad shows fantasy owners why it is important to own in him in all leagues. After Eddie Lacy’s first run where he took a brutal helmet to helmet hit by Brandon Merriweather, the team ruled him out for […]
