The Chicago White Sox are poised to become one of the most significant sellers on the trade market this summer. The team has already dealt reliever Matt Thornton, and players such as Jake Peavy, Jesse Crain and Alex Rios continue to be mentioned in trade rumors. Still, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports continues to hear that White Sox ace Chris Sale remains unavailable. continue to hear from GMs that chris sale remains unavailable. #chisox — Jon Heyman (@JonHeymanCBS) July 18, 2013 While the White Sox appear set to shift their focus to the future by shipping out multiple veterans prior to the July 31 trade deadline, the team doesn't appear interested in moving Sale. Chicago could likely unload the left-hander for a bevy of prospects to help expedite their rebuilding process, but instead the White Sox seem set to focus their future movement around young players such as Sale. This makes sense considering Sale is still only 24 years old and under team control through the 2017 season. He's developed into the team's best starting pitcher. After posting an ERA and WHIP of 3.05 and 1.1135 over 30 appearances last year, the southpaw has maintained marks of 2.85 and 1.008 with a 4.85 strikeout-to-walk ratio over the first half of this season.
