With A Hurricane Looming Will Reid Still Chuck It 50 Times?

Posted October 27, 2012

The Eagles facing a team that’s number one verses the pass? No problem for Andy Reid. He’s tossing it 50 times. The Eagles are going up against a team that is one of the worst in the league against the run? No problem, Andy Reid will hit them with the trickery of the pass!! They’ll never see that coming! The Offensive line is leaking like a broken faucet? No problem for Andy Reid! If the Eagles keep passing eventually they will get it right! Quarterback with a career completion percentage less than 60%? No problem for Reid! It just means he hasn’t thrown the ball enough to eventually get that percentage over 60%. Quarterback turning the ball over much? No problem for Reid. He just needs more practice. 70 pass attempts this week!

Now Mother Nature herself is trying hard to help Andy Reid see that his 5 year plan now in season 14 isn’t the way to win Championships. Sandy with her wins at 50-80 miles per hour will sure make it hard for the Eagles to throw that ball so many times. Of course I’m sure Reid is going to gameplan as many passes early so he can prove his way can defy Nature. In a sick way I hope he actually does so I can watch him at the press conference all red faced explaining why Mike Vick was trying to throw the ball 50 yards downfield into 80 miles per hour winds. I want to see him go on and on about “doing a better job” to a crowd of reporters who are wondering if he’s serious, arrogant or just plain stupid. In a nutshell I for one am sick of Andy Reid and his way of doing football. If he did evaluate everything they were doing this bye week then he had better wake up and run the damn ball.

  • I think its funny.
  • I think it's infuriating and sad.
  • maybe Reid should sit Vick
  • He's a stubborn man, wouldn't be at all surprized if he does. I know I said in other threads that Atlanta will win this game, but I also believe this is a trap game for the Falcons. And you know the old saying, "On Any Given Sunday..."
  • Ahem....forget that...ahem..."On Any Given Sunday thing....never mind.... ;-)
  • Reports are the GS Parkway has suspended tolls forc the hurricane. It's gonna be an interesting game.
  • It would be a perfect way to fool the Falcons...everything pointing to McCoy carrying the ball all day...Vick drops back on the first snap with a 27 step drop. I like the call.
  • ...and somwhere in America, Juan Castillo is laughing.

  • I thought of McDermott early but only because of Babin being back in coverage on that 3rd down when he had the penalty. McDermott used to take Cole (his only effective pass rusher) and put him in coverage at times. Never did get that. I know it may take some games for Bowles to put his fingerprint on this defense but they are still struggling on 3rd down, Asomugha is still getting beat, players are still dropping picks, penalties are still happening and the defense has given up points on every single drive. Castillo could have done the same. Someone needs to be benched and DRC would have been a good casualty for a couple drives today. Beaten on that first touchdown (along with everybody), penalties and playing too soft at times.
  • Now that Reid will most likely lose his undefeated mark after the bye he has nothing left. Are we ready to get rid of him now?
  • Who would have thought the real hurricane was the Falcons.
  • The scapegoat is vindicated.

  • Hopefully the fat man himself.

  • A disgrace. Disgusting. The best part has been the "Fire Andy" chants. I sure hope Lurie listens this year.

  • I don't think Lurie has a choice this year. He put his words out there to be heard and if he goes back on that then their will be thousands of hollywoodeagles running loose in eastern Pennsylvania. If Reid doesn't fix this (and he can't) he will be gone at the end of the year.
  • The defense isn't stopping anybody and even though the Eagles are about to score it is hopeless. Foles should have already been in the game but I knew Reid wouldn't bring him in. Not giving up on his Eagles career nor does he want the possibilty of Foles driving the team and having to answer any more QB questions than he already will be.

  • Two chances to put more points on the board and what does Vick do? Bad passes, no pocket presence, he HAS to be missing open receivers because I have a hard time believing the Eagles receivers almost never get open and he's looking to run almost right away at times. I get that Reid isn't doing him any favors but Vick doesn't scare anybody right now and why should he? Reid probably isn't going anywhere until the end of the season but he has control over who is behind center. 16 points a game almost halfway through the season just doesn't cut it. Time for a change on offense and if Vick starts Monday night against New Orleans (be surprised as hell if he doesn't) and struggles, Foles needs to start against the Cowboys.

  • They were horrible and could only stop Atlanta when they gave themselves up at the end of the game. Just heard Ike Reese say that the secondary was worse today. He agrees with you, Spotella.

  • Reid isn't having a good season! This is probably the first season I feel that Reid doesn't seem to have his head in the game & I wonder how much of it has to do w/ his son.

He needs to see that: Vick has SUCKED all season, Morningweg Has Sucked all season! The running game has sucked all season (Both bryce brown & McCoy need to carry the ball more). Babin SUCKs this year, Cole Sucks this year.. Is it their fault or the Defensive line coach's ? Cause Man THEY SUCK! Amount of Penalties on 3rd downs! Completely different ball game if they just didn't penalize!

Fire Morningweg, Start Foles & see how the season ends
  • If he does both this week it's like holding up the white flag on his Eagle's career. Many of us would love seeing it but neither will probably happen yet. I don't think he will fire another coordinator but if Vick struggles next week against the Saints, Foles should be in against the Cowboys. May not happen but it definitely should.
  • At least stop letting Morningweg call the plays! I mean.. The plays morningweg is calling just does not FIT this offense! This offense needs to: Run the ball, Play the screen, & Throw some deep balls.

I don't get it.. I want MOrningweg GONE
  • but yeah, your right.. I don't see him letting morningweg go mid season!

Hopefully we see Foles in soon enough! cause it's practically a guarunteed loss @ the Saints
  • I was hoping to see him late today and he should have been in there. Reid isn't ready to call it quits.
  • Foles should have gotten some clock in that game. Especially since Vick got hurt.

  • Just because he didn't stay away from work long doesn't mean he didn't mourn the loss of his son with his family. I don't think I would have come back so early but I'll never rip the man for choosing to mourn his own way.

  • Im completely with spot on this and the guy is a disgrace. He proved his arrogance and hes a backstabbing fat slob. Lets call a spade a spade. He screwed Mcnabb and the fans out of a superbowl. Its time to cut the whale loose. Goodbye and good riddance.
  • [not displayed: comment from locked account]
  • You both have the right to feel that way although like usual I think hollywood takes it WAY to far. He called it the most despicable act he's ever seen in public...just taking it a bit too far, don't you think?
  • [not displayed: comment from locked account]
  • Funny, Spotella.
  • Love how when we're up in the 4th quarter Reid passes but when we're down by 20 he runs the ball. No more Mcnabb to bail him out and take the blame. He should be fired tomorrow. I'd be fine with going 4-12, cutting Vick and Nnamdi, and getting an early 1st round pick.

  • Misery loves company, doesn't it? Normally I'd be rooting for the Cowboys today so the Eagles would still have a shot at the division. Let's be real, the Eagles have NO shot at the division...GO GIANTS!
  • didnt you grill me once before for rooting for a team in our division. Stop rooting before someone questions your fanhood.
  • Just over the Cowboys, hollywood and if you need to try to beat me up over that then feel free. Usually I will pull for the lesser of the 2 records if the Eagles have a shot at the division but I have already stated before that I can't stand the Cowboys and the Giants are number 2 when it comes to the teams I don't like. The Giants are taking this divison so why not enjoy watching those Cowboys struggle also? I will never want to see the division rivals win UNLESS they are playing each other. You on the other hand admitted to wanting to see them win no matter who they were playing. Probably just another reason some people doubt you are truly an Eagles fan.
  • Aw Screw them both.
  • [not displayed: comment from locked account]
  • Well, they never hit 50 passes, Eazy but that may be because the Falcons controlled the ball and clock and not because of Sandy.
  • lets see??? if my priorites were protecting my family from a hurricane OR a damn football game???? oops I forgot im talking to walls.....
  • What a single minded generation. Is the mind too small to do multiple things at once.... I think I did that right???
  • boy that didnt take long????? you must sit and wait?????
  • ever hear the group Styx???? "to much time on my hands"
  • Thanks for commented??????
