Found June 18, 2013 on The Awesome Boston:
ESPN BOSTON: Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara received stitches over his left eye after catching an edge and colliding with teammate Milan Lucic before Monday’s Game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals. The injury was initially believed to be to the back of his head. The two collided on the ice in front of the Bruins’ bench with just more than three minutes remaining in pregame warmups. Both players lost their helmets. Chara quickly went to the dressing room, got the stitches and was on the ice in time for the puck drop. A.B. The Boston Bruins dodged a bullet here, especially since Chicago Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa was a late scratch in Game 3 – also rumored to have been hurt in warm ups. Maybe it was the ice. Maybe it was bad luck. But Chara in, even with stitches, and Hossa out as a late scratch seemed to bode well for the Bruins who took a 2-1 series lead tonight.

Zdeno Chara, work in progress? At one time, he most certainly was just that

Yahoo Sports' Nicholas J. Cotsonika penned a fantastic profile of Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara, and it is absolutely essential reading because he tells the truth: the NHL's most dominant defenseman at present didn't burst onto the NHL scene--he kind of stumbled onto it, taking years to grow into that big, mean body through oodles of hard work: Before he was...

GIF/VIDEO: Chara Wipes Out, Takes Lucic with Him

Zdeno Chara was super grumpy post-game. It ended with him and Bickell fighting but it began with him losing an edge pre-game. Rask would say this is ****** ice... or maybe bad skate blade. Taylor Hall is not impressed, though. I disagree “@FriedgeHNIC: Healy says Chara needed stitches in back of head after pre-game collision with Lucic. Most dangerous...

Zdeno Chara and Milan Lucic collide in warm ups before Game 3

Two of the biggest players in the NHL collided on Monday night during warm ups.  Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara was skating around in warm ups when he lost an edge and took out Milan Lucic from behind.  Chara went right off the ice, presumably to get his skate resharpened.  Luckily for Boston both players were fine. Bruins, Blackhawks get into it at end of Game 3

Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara had just about enough of Chicago Blackhawks forward Bryan Bickell.  The pushing and shoving started slowly, but Chara knocked Bickell down and ended up on top of him.  Chara is a massive human being and to see him man handle Bickell like he was a child was still impressive. A huge scrum formed around the two and Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw...

Patrice Bergeron Scores Goal Off Bizarre Bankshot From Zdeno Chara (Video)

A shot from Zdeno Chara deflected off the goalie, off the back glass, off the top of the net, then off Patrice Bergeron‘s stick and into the back of the net. Just how Claude Julien wrote it up. Not quite, but the unorthodox goal reduced the Bruins deficit to one in the final minutes of the second period. Less than two minutes after Blackhawks center Marcus Kruger gave Chicago...

Zdeno Chara swats a fly, Bryan Bickell gets in the way

Zdeno Chara-Bryan Bickell, Brad Marchand-Andrew Shaw Trade Blows Near Conclusion of Game 3 (Video)

The Stanley Cup Final between the Bruins and Blackhawks has not been quite as “angry” a series as Boston’s matchup with the Penguins in the Eastern Conference finals, but you wouldn’t know it by watching the final minute of Monday’s Game 3. With barely 10 seconds remaining in the third period, Zdeno Chara and Bryan Bickell began exchanging shoves in front of B’s goalie...

(Video) 2013 SCF Game three... Bickell and Chara scrum; Marchand vs Shaw game ending fight.

What a fitting ending to an awesome game between the Boston Bruins and the Chicago Blackhawks. Things got nasty at the end, so things are going to heat up it would appear. With the win tonight, the Boston Bruins have now won 11 straight game threes. The Boston Bruins have also killed off 26 straight power plays, that's why the Blackhawks are 0/11 on the power play. Also...

2013 Stanley Cup Finals Game Three: Bergy Scores 2-0 Boston after two...

The box score will read, Zdeno Chara pass to Jaromir Jagr who fed Patrice Bergeron with a beautiful cross ice pass. Bergy waited until he saw an opening and then shot and then shot the puck past Chicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford. #Bruins lead faceoff battle 29-13. Bergeron/Kelly a combined 24-5. Handzus/Kruger/Bolland a combined 1-20. — Nicholas W. Goss (@NicholasGoss35...

Warm-ups more painful than the game

The big news from the start of Monday's Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final was the absence of Marian Hossa, one of the Chicago Blackhawks' most productive players, who was listed as an unexpected scratch minutes before the puck dropped in Boston. According to the Blackhawks' official Twitter account, Hossa's unspecified injury apparently happened during warm-ups: Marian...

Lord Stanley Game Three

Just a few things that caught my eye: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool Joel Quennville four times? Shame on the organization. Zdeno Chara was in the dressing room with a skate issue for at least four shifts and Quennville failed to get Jonathan Toews on the ice for any of them. How does that happen with today's technology? Tuukka...

Stanley Cup Finals: Game 3. Chicago Blackhawks at Boston Bruins. WELCOME TO THE BRU-AGE

This is still pretty surreal and pretty ******* awesome, especially with the series now being tied and coming back to Boston. There was nothing better than hearing the city of Shhhhicago shutting the **** up when Dan Paille scored that goal. I mean, you can say Boston stole that game, if you think dominating every period that is played after period 1 is stealing a game.  ...
