Both San Diego State and North Dakota State were involved in games after 7 pm on Thursday night, so you know things got pretty crazy in each game. The Bison took down Big 12 runner-up Oklahoma down in overtime, while the Aztecs also won an extended game, with a close overtime win over New Mexico State. The winner of this match-up will face Arizona, Gonzaga, or Oklahoma State. Be sure to click here for more on San Diego State and North Dakota State. Also, check out our printable bracket here. Date: Saturday, March 22, 2014 Time: 6:10 PM EST TV Channel: TNT Location: Spokane Arena (Spokane, WA) Announcers: Spero Dedes, Doug Gottlieb, Jaime Maggio Opening Betting Line: San Diego State -4 (125.5) via Odds Shark Prediction: This game comes down to strength versus strength for these two teams. San Diego State has one of the nation’s best defenses, but really struggle to score outside of star Xavier Thames, who carries them on the offensive end. North Dakota State is not shabby on the defensive end, but are among the most efficient offenses in the country. They shoot over 50% from the floor as a team, and have mismatches all over the floor like Taylor Braun and Marshall Bjorklund. Against Oklahoma, it was 11 point per game scorer Lawrence Alexander breaking out with 28 points in 45 minutes. San Diego State’s one note offense is scary, especially against a team that can fill it up like the Bison. Look for the 12-seed to keep hopes alive this weekend.
