The 2013 McDonald’s All-American rosters have been announced, and 5 future ‘Cats have made the lists. 6’10” center Dakari Johnson is the only Kentucky representative on the East squad. Aaron & Andrew Harrison, James Young, and Marcus Lee are on the West squad. The ‘Cats have now set the record for the most selections from one school ever. Kentucky has the most selections with 5. North Carolina, Duke, and Florida each have 2. John Calipari has now had 15 All-Americans since becoming the head coach at Kentucky. Kentucky targets Aaron Gordon (West) and Andrew Wiggins (East) were also selected to play. Julius Randle was left off of the rosters due to a broken foot and is still recovering from that injury. Randle is still under consideration for being selected, and the director of the McDonald’s All-American games released this statement to the Lexington Herald Leader regarding Randle: “We are aware that following his injury earlier this season, 2013 McDonald’s All American Nominee Julius Randle is preparing for his return to the court. Although Randle does not appear on the 2013 Roster today, the McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee will be closely watching his play over the next few weeks as he finishes his senior season. The McDonald’s All American Games have featured the top prep talent for 36 years, and if Julius Randle returns as the Julius Randle we knew earlier this season, we are open to naming him to the team just as we did with Derrick Whittenberg in 1979 and Sam Perkins in 1980. We want to make sure that any player that takes the court on April 3 at Chicago’s United Center is capable of competing at the highest level.” Here are the official rosters for each team: EAST Name Pos Hgt High School College Anthony Barber G 6-2 Hampton, Va.
