But empirical evidence suggests that advancing this far is extra sweet for head coaches.College basketball coaches are often eligible to receive a plethora of various incentive bonuses, depending on the details of their contract. These include conference championships, tournament bids, regular season win totals, and tournament performance, among others.With that in mind, here is a look at what 11 of the 16 remaining NCAA Tournament coaches received as compensation for advancing this far.Note: Contract information from Duke, La Salle, Marquette, Syracuse and Miami (Fla.) were unavailable, as each is a private school.Sean Miller (Arizona) - $75,000Billy Donovan (Florida) - $37,500Andy Enfield (FGCU) - $10,000Tom Crean (Indiana) - $35,000Bill Self (Kansas) - N/ARick Pitino (Louisville) - $50,000John Beilein (Michigan) - $25,000Tom Izzo (Michigan State) - $25,000Thad Matta (Ohio State) - N/ADan Altman (Oregon) - $10,000Gregg Marshall (Wichita State) - $60,000Some of these coaches have already earned additional bonuses by advancing to the tournament, winning their conference, winning an tournament game, etc.Additionally, all stand to receive a significant bonus if they win the NCAA title.
