One extreme or the other. That has been the byword for Fighting Illini basketball player Brandon Paul. He can look sensational at times, his 43 point effort against Ohio State being his most obvious success. But there are other times when mistakes and turnovers mar his effort. Sometimes both extremes occur in the same game. Will he find a happy medium?

Floridian Taylor Barton is one of those, and he is sold on the new staff.
Official Visit Reinforces Spencer's Decision
Among many other tasks, new Fighting Illini football coach Tim Beckman has needed to convince previous commitments to remain loyal to the program. Joe Spencer has been committed to the Illini since this summer. He spent the weekend on campus for his official visit and left more sure than ever he made the right decision.
Columbus DT Impressed With Illini On Visit
The Fighting Illini football team began its final push for recruits this weekend, hosting seven players on official visits. Among the visitors was Terrell Jackson, a defensive tackle from Columbus, Ohio. Jackson was impressed with the campus, the new coaching staff and the Illini players.
2014 Keita Bates-Diop Visits For OSU game
The Fighting Illini basketball team hosted several prospects for the Ohio State game, and they came away impressed. Among them was a downstate sophomore who grew up following the Illini. Keita Bates-Diop is a slender small forward whose best basketball is still ahead of him.
W. Swimming. Illini Fall to Southern Illinois, 151.5-147.5
The Fighting Illini swimming and diving team (4-4) fell to Southern Illinois, 151.5-147.5, at the Dr. Edward J. Shea Natatorium on Monday afternoon. The Illini won seven out of 16 events, including two wins by sophomore Jessica Holz in the 100 back (58.72) and 200 back (2:04.79).
Pennsylvania LB Discusses Illini Commitment
With Keith Brown’s switch to Louisville, the Fighting Illini football team was back in the market for another linebacker in its 2012 class. It didn’t take long to fill that gap with a physical backer out of Pittsburgh.
