@StevieU22 It’s been one helluva week for Louisville head basketball coach Rick Pitino. The recently inducted hall-of-famer has been traveling to promote his new book, appearing on multiple radio and television shows. The week got even better for Pitino on Friday afternoon. Chinanu Onuaku, a 6-foot-10, 220-pound, center from Upper Marlboro, MD., verbally committed to Louisville in front of the media and his peers at the Riverdale Baptist School. Onuaku becomes the third member of Louisville’s recruiting class, joining four star forward Jaylen Johnson and four star combo guard Shaqquan Aaron. The Maryland native chose Louisville over Miami and Georgetown. He also had scholarship offers from Cincinnati, UConn, Maryland, Seton Hall and Xavier, among others. ranks Onuaku as the ninth best center in the 2014 class. Rivals ranks him as the 65th best overall player. He’s still raw offensively, but can rebound and block shots. Onuaku definitely fills a need for Pitino’s 2014 class.

Radio hosts troll Rick Pitino in most juvenile way possible

Louisville coach Rick Pitino called into the Toucher in Rich show on Thursday and was promptly trolled by the radio hosts.

Boston sports radio host Fred Toettcher hangs up on Rick Pitino over Celtics

After having worked in the sports radio game, I’m not really surprised these days about things that happen in the realm of sports radio. Earlier today, former NBA head coach Rick Pitino was supposed to do an interview on Boston-area sports radio show, “The Toucher and Rich Show” about his brand new book. However, instead of doing an interview, he hung up on Rick: Fred Toettcher...

This Is Undoubtedly The Shortest Interview Rick Pitino Has Ever Had In His Life

Boston’s top sports talk morning radio show, Toucher & Rich, brought on former Celtics and current Louisville Cardinals head coach Rick Pitino for a phone-in interview this morning, but it didn’t last very long. Here’s the audio & full transcript: [Start of Interview] Fred Toucher...

Audio: Boston Radio Station Invites Rick Pitino On For Interview, Insults Him, Then Hangs Up

As everybody knows, the folks up in Boston take their sports seriously — very, very seriously. And even worse, or better, depending on if you live in Boston or not, they hold grudges. Today, one of those grudges was made brutally apparent. Local radio hosts Toucher & Rich asked current Louisville and former Celtics head coach Rick Pitino to appear on their show for an interview...

Louisville Basketball: Pitino Talks About His Team & Previews Red & White Game

Rick Pitino met with the media on Friday afternoon to discuss his new book and also talk about his team. He spent some time talking about tomorrow’s Red & White scrimmage as well. Here are some notable quotes. On the first few practices “We’ve had maybe three practices, today will be the fourth. We’re waiting a little bit. It’ll be ragged. I’m hoping without many...

Highlights: Louisville’s 2014 Recruiting Class

Rick Pitino has received five commitments from the 2014 class. Unfortunately, only three of those players have maintained their commitment to the Louisville program. Shaqquan Aaron, a 6-foot-8, 175-pound, combo guard from Seattle, WA., verbally committed to Louisville in February of last year. Jaylen Johnson, a 6-foot-8, 210-pound, power forward from Michigan gave Pitino a verbal...

Rick Pitino Discusses His Team With Andy Katz

Any interview you heard from Rick Pitino within the past 48-hours has mostly been about his new book. There has been some brief conversation about the 2013-14 college basketball season, but not much. Fortunately for Andy Katz of ESPN, he caught up with Coach Pitino on Saturday afternoon for a solid interview about this year’s Louisville team. Click here to view from your mobile device.

Red-White scrimmage impresses Pitino

Dumbasses in Boston interview Pitino, “You ruined the Celtics”

It’s hard to get Rick Pitino to do an interview. It may be even more difficult in Boston, where Pitino struggled as head coach of the Celtics for several years. Well, Pitino granted Boston radio hosts Toucher and Rich an interview and it ended up lasting only a few seconds as it went down like this. Fred: We are joined by Rick Pitino, former coach of the Celtics, current coach...

Fred Toucher hangs up on Rick Pitino after 10 seconds

Wow, this is amazing. The Evil Emperor has had much success at the college level, winning a national championship just last year. When he was with the Celtics? Not so much. Many in Boston still hate Pitino to this day for the terrible job he did as coach, GM, CEO and president. A once great franchise continued its dip into irrelevance. Fred Toucher of Boston's #1 morning sports...

Toucher and Rich's Non-Interview Interview with Rick Pitino

Any Celtics fan who has been around for any length of time can't help but have some animosity toward Rick Pitino for his ill fated reign as Celtics coach and GM. Pitino is the main reason Larry Bird left the organization. He disrespected Red Auerbach and almost single handedly set the franchise back years. Banner 17 might have come much sooner if it hadn't been for the...

Rick Pitino gets hung up on ten seconds into interview

Louisville Cardinals head coach (and former Boston Celtics head coach) Rick Pitino appeared on Thursday's edition of Toucher and Rich in Boston. His appearance, however, was quite brief, as Deadspin has captured. That's right: Pitino says good morning to the hosts, is told he ruined the Celtics and stinks, and is hung up on. Total time from introduction to conclusion...

Joanne Pitino put Louisville first

Joanne Pitino applauds the University of Louisville’s NCAA championship during a community celebration at the KFC Yum! Center in April. Before we get too far removed from that splendid moment in April when the University of Louisville basketball team cut down the NCAA championship nets in Atlanta, a little credit to someone who has played a major role in UofL’s success. Joanne...

Former Louisville Recruit Decommits From UCLA. Will Louisville Get Involved?

247 Former Louisville recruit Trevon Bluiett decommitted from UCLA on Thursday evening. Bluiett had been one of the first few recruits in the 2014 class that Louisville showed serious interest in, but somewhere throughout the recruiting process, there was a mutual parting. The Indianapolis native was a forgotten name once Louisville received commitments from Shaqquan Aaron and JaQuan...
