Sunday was the first day of the NCAA’s open contact period, where recruiters are allowed to make contact with prospects. Louisville head coach Rick Pitino has visited and made contact with more than one recruit since Sunday, but Chris Jones, a 5-foot-11 point guard at Northwest Florida State College was the first guy Coach Pitino wanted to see. Jones, a sophomore-to-be at the junior college level was visited by both Pitino and Louisville assistant Kevin Keatts on Sunday. Jones is one of the many point guard prospects in the 2013 class that has a scholarship offer from the Cards, but it’s beginning to seem as if Jones is the top player on Pitino’s list. I think it’s safe to say that if there is one point guard to add in the 2013 class, Chris Jones makes the most sense. Louisville already has a commitment from point guard Quintin Snider, who is a member of the 2014 class. When Peyton Siva graduates in 2013, Snider will still have a year of high school basketball left. If Pitino can br...

  • Really, so Since Memphis isn't courting Jones anymore, he is now a story for Louisville..... And not one story about the top JUCO player(not Chirs Jones) in the nation, Geron Johnson, who signed already with Memphis........... 5-Star Forward Jarrell Martin Will Receive A Visit From Louisville

Jarrell Martin, a 5-star forward from Baton Rouge, LA., is expected to receive a visit from a member of the Louisville coaching staff today. With Rick Pitino and Kevin Keatts both heading to Hargrave Military Academy, I can only assume that Louisville assistant Wyking Jones is the one who will travel to see Martin. As of last month, Martin, a 6-foot-8 hybrid forward had trimmed his...

Louisville No Longer Pursuing 5-Star Point Guard Anthony “Cat” Barber

ESPN recruiting analyst Dave Telep is reporting that Louisville is no longer pursuing 5-star point guard Anthony “Cat” Barber. Barber, a 6-foot-2 Hampton, VA., native took an official visit to Louisville this past weekend and had Louisville in his final list of four. We can only assume that this means that Rick Pitino and his staff has shifted all of their attention to JUCO PG...

Cardinal Connect Interview: 7-Foot-1 Center Joel Embiid Picks Up Louisville Offer

Today is the first day of the open contact period where recruiters can make in-person contact with prospects. As I mentioned earlier this week, Rick Pitino is in Florida visiting with Chris Jones, a JUCO point guard at Northwest Florida State College. However, Jones isn’t the only prospect that earned a visit from the future hall-of-fame coach this afternoon. While in the sunshine...

Former Cardinal sharp-shooter Preston Knowles recently agreed to terms with Kao Dramas of Greece’s top level professional league. Knowles spent last season playing in the NBDL and in the Ukraine. LOUISVILLE, Ky. After opening with two dominant victories, No. 19 Louisville expects a tougher test from North Carolina. That postseason scenario is a long way off. Louisville first wants to make sure victories against...

Healthy receiver contributes for No. 19 Cardinals

As a nickname, ''Honey Mustard'' doesn't have the same ring to it as ''Honey Badger.'' Damian Copeland's Louisville teammates say the moniker is their way of saying they like the wide receiver's style. But what they like even more: Copeland is contributing for the No. 19 Cardinals. Injuries were a problem before this season and limited...
