While Maryland was unable to pull out the victory over Illinois, they did arguably their best job to date of running their offensive sets. The Terps were able to get some open catch and shoot looks for Terrell Stoglin off the ball by setting some double screens. Here’s a look at one such instance late in the first half which resulted in a big made three pointer.

Faust brings the ball up court and drops the ball to James  Padgett at the top of the three-point line:

Faust and Stoglin both begin to cut into the paint:

Stoglin flashes for the ball in the paint while Faust begins to curl back around to the top of the three-point line:

Faust takes the handoff from Padgett at the top of the key and Stoglin begins a hard cut back to the three-point line from underneath the basket:

Stoglin rubs off of the initial screen from Pankey while Padgett comes down to set a second screen for the shooter:

Padgett comes over to cut off Stoglin’s defender and Terrell gets a clean look at the basket for the catch and shoot:
