OCMonitor.com At this time last year is when everything changed for UofL men’s basketball manager, Logan Baumann. During the team’s first week of practice, Baumann was in charge of doing the team’s laundry. However, after former guard Mike Marra went down with a season ending knee injury, Rick Pitino called Buamann in his office and asked him if he’d like to join the team as a walk-on. As you could expect, Baumann gladly accepted the offer. Fortunately, the Ohio County, KY., native’s one season in a Louisville uniform ended with a national championship. Kenny Klein confirmed to the Courier-Journal that Baumann is now back to being a full-time manager for the program. He played in just four games last season, connecting on a pair of free-throws against Miami (OH) for his only collegiate points. As a senior in high school, Baumann led the Ohio County Eagles to a 29-3 record as a senior in 2011-12, a number nine ranking in the state and a 10th district championship. He was voted as the...

Former Louisville guard gets huge national champions tattoo

Injuries may have derailed former Louisville guard Mike Marra’s 2012-2013 season, but he’s clearly still proud of what his team accomplished in his absence. Marra got one of the larger tattoos we’ve ever seen on his rib cage to commemorate the Cardinals’ 2013 national championship run. Even cooler – the tattoo artist was his brother, Rob. Rib piece is done! Thanks to the...

Mike Marra’s Tattoos Are Better Than Yours

The tattoo that Rick Pitino received after Louisville won’t the national championship received quite a bit of attention. Call me crazy, but Coach Pitino doesn’t exactly seem like a “tattoo guy,” however that didn’t stop him from sticking with his commitment of getting the champ stamp. I hate to break it to you Rick, but I think one of your former players has outdone you...

It’s Been Six Months Since Louisville Won The National Championship

Six month ago to this exact day, the University of Louisville men’s basketball program won their first national championship in 27 years. It’s hard to believe that it’s been six months. Part of me feels like it was ten years ago and another part of me feels like it was last week. We’re all confident in this year’s team for good reason. Rick Pitino has a squad that could...

He seemed more upbeat and excited than usual.  Having a chance to show off his team to a national audience on Thursday night appears to be something that Coach Strong has been waiting for. “National TV is big for us. Only time will tell, but as of this point, Thursday’s game against Rutgers will be the biggest one on the schedule for Charlie Strong and the Louisville Cardinals this season.
