Former Wisconsin basketball shooting guard Brad Davison has officially put pen to paper on a new professional contract overseas for the 2023-24 season.

After leaving his mark on the Badgers basketball program, Davison took his talents overseas, playing his first season of pro ball across the pond in Lithuania for Nevėžis Kėdainiai. The Maple Grove, Minnesota native appeared in 35 games, averaging 13.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.5 steals on 35.7% shooting from beyond the arc.

Davison’s impressive rookie campaign netted him a new opportunity. The 6-foot-4 guard is taking a leap of faith and signing with a club founded in 2015, where he’ll play for Fundacion Lucentum, located in Alicante, Spain.

This move not only marks a new chapter in Davison’s professional career but also highlights the international appeal of the sport and the opportunities it offers to athletes willing to explore new horizons.

Let’s look closer at Davison’s storied career and his decision to continue his basketball career abroad.

Brad Davison Played With Grit for the Wisconsin Basketball Program.

Brad Davison, a name synonymous with Wisconsin basketball, has left an indelible mark on college hoops during his time with the program.

Known for his gritty defense, tenacity, and clutch shooting, Davison was a fan favorite and a key player for the Badgers throughout his collegiate career. His leadership on and off the court earned him a reputation as a true team player and the kind of guy you’d want your daughter to date.

Davison left the program holding several records, such as career-made three-pointers (350), games played (160), and career starts (156). He also finished as just one of four Badgers players with 1,500 points, 500 rebounds, and 300 assists in their career.

Unofficially, it seems plausible that Davison is Wisconsin’s all-time leader in charges taken as well. He’ll forever be a legend for his accomplishments while donning the Cardinal and White.

Final Thoughts on Brad Davison & His New Chapter

Brad Davison signing with Fundacion Lucentum is undoubtedly a game-changer for the Spanish club.

He is a wealth of basketball knowledge, a terrific teammate, plays with a high IQ, and will bring a winning mentality to his new team. Davison’s defensive prowess, three-point shooting, and leadership skills can make him a valuable asset as Fundacion Lucentum aims to achieve its goals in the Spanish basketball scene.

For players like Davison, the appeal of playing overseas lies in the opportunity to adapt to different playing styles, learn from diverse coaching philosophies, and immerse themselves in new cultures.

Such experiences enhance a player’s skill set and contribute to personal growth and a broader perspective on the game. Additionally, international leagues often provide a unique avenue for players to extend their careers and continue doing what they love.

Wisconsin basketball fans will always have love for Big Game Brad, and I look forward to watching him continue to flourish overseas.
