1. Until this season, junior Cory Jefferson had become a bit of a forgotten man. He's from the same class as Derrick Favors and John Wall. Heading into this season his career high was 13 points in a blowout of Jackson State. He only scored 10 versus Kentucky, but it was off a very efficient six shots, and he had five rebounds. He also added five blocks, which matched Kentucky's team total.
2. Kyle Wiltjer had his 2nd most shot attempts of the season, but only made one shot. He also attempted nine 3s, making one. Since making 7-11 3s vs Lafayette, Wiltjer is 3-22 (13.6%) from beyond the arc.
3. Kentucky only made 9-18 free throws. Entering the game they were 224th nationally in free throw shooting, making just 66.7%. It was their worst free throw performance since their loss to Connecticut in their 2011 Final Four loss.
4. The Wildcats grabbed 21 offensive boards. They did miss 50 shots, but still, a 42% offensive rebounding rate is what kept them in this game. ...
