The Assembly Call:
After a sluggish start in their first game away from Assembly Hall and against a big conference foe, Indiana was able to pull away from Georgia in the 2nd half en route to a 66-53 victory.
Jordan Hulls led the way for Indiana with 14 points on 4-6 shooting from downtown, while Victor Oladipo turned in a stellar second half, finishing with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Cody Zeller battled first half foul trouble and never really got into a rhythm, scoring just 6 points for the game.
With Jerod and Ryan out for the evening thanks to Monday Night Football, Ryan and Zach broke it all down on the latest postgame show.

BROOKLYN — Indiana senior Jordan Hulls (14 points) and junior Victor Oladipo (15 points, seven rebounds) met with the media following Indiana’s 66-53 win over Georgia in the Legends Classic at the Barclays Center on Monday night.

It has been quite some time since we saw the old Bobby Knight. There were brushes of it, when the former Indiana Hoosiers basketball coach refused to refer to Kentucky by name, but that was child’s play compared to last night during ESPN’s broadcast of Indiana vs Georgia. The Indianapolis Star put together a string [...]
BROOKLYN — Indiana freshman Yogi Ferrell (14 points, four assists), senior Jordan Hulls (17 points, four steals) and sophomore Cody Zeller (17 points, eight rebounds) met with the media following the Hoosiers’ 82-72 overtime win over Georgetown in the Legends Classic at the Barclays Center on Tuesday night.

BROOKLYN — Perhaps it was the travel or maybe it was playing in an NBA arena in the nation’s largest city, but Indiana got off to a very slow start on Monday evening at the Barclays Center against Georgia in the Legends Classic. Senior guard Jordan Hulls hit a 3-pointer to start the game, but the Hoosiers missed their next eleven from beyond the arc. IU was 8-of-25 (32 percent...
BOBBY BEING BOBBY
Bobby Knight served as an analyst for an Indiana game for the first time and said that he "would’ve shot" a player before allowing said player to take an ill-advised three-pointer.
ESPN.com’s Andy Katz is reporting that IU freshmen Hanner Mosquera-Perea and Peter Jurkin won an appeal that will allow them to travel to Brooklyn for Indiana’s games on Monday and Tuesday in the Barclays Center, but neither player will be in uniform.
According to Katz, Tom Crean said today that the appeal for a reduction in the 9-game suspension for Mosquera-Perea and Jurkin...
BROOKLYN — Thoughts on a 66-53 in over Georgia:
I. Here’s the reality of this one: Yes, it was ugly for the first 30 or so minutes, but Indiana’s final offensive surge to end the game made it respectable. The Hoosiers ended up shooting 51.5% on 2s and after starting out just 1-of-12 on 3-pointers, four late ones had them at 5-of-16 for the night (31.3%). That adds up to a...
Indiana is still a runaway No. 1 in The Associated Press college basketball poll and Louisville is again a solid second. Then come the changes, with Kentucky dropping five spots to eighth.
The Hoosiers (3-0) receive 46 first-place votes Monday from the 65-member national media panel. The Cardinals (5-0) get the other 19 No. 1 votes.
Ohio State and Michigan both move up one place...
A night after an ineffective game, Cody Zeller had 17 points and
eight rebounds to lead No. 1 Indiana to an 82-72 overtime win
against Georgetown in the title game of the Legends Classic
tournament on Tuesday night.
Victor Oladipo had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead No. 1 Indiana to a 63-53 victory over Georgia on Monday night in the semifinals of the Progressive Legends Classic at the Barclays Center.
Jordan Hulls and Christian Watford both had 14 points for the Hoosiers (4-0) and they were the ones who finally started hitting from long range as Indiana established control of the game...
BROOKLYN — When Georgetown’s Otto Porter hit a layup to tie the game with seconds remaining in regulation, it seemed momentum would swing in favor of the Hoyas.
But Tom Crean’s team was resilient and showed poise from the start of overtime, taking control from the tip.
The Hoosiers scored six of the first eight points in the extra period – four from Jordan Hulls (including...
BROOKLYN — Thoughts on an 82-72 overtime win over Georgetown:
I. Indiana and Georgetown traded three after three over each other’s zone defenses in the first half, and this began as it finished, in the words of Tom Crean, “an epic battle.” Georgetown may not be ranked now, but it’ll come as little surprise if the Hoyas find themselves in the Top 25 sooner rather than later...
Georgetown may not be ranked, but that won’t be the case for long. The Hoyas are a long, tough bunch, and they gave Indiana everything the Hoosiers could handle tonight.
But the #1 team in America – still playing without its top three frontcourt reserves – did what the #1 team should do: it responded to gut check time and won a gritty game against a good team.
