Two of Michigan’s three incoming freshmen could start next season and all three could find themselves in the rotation. No matter what the freshmen do, John Beilein will likely spend the early portion of the season drawing from his stable of young but relatively experienced players — playing under the bright lights of the Final Four will cause any player to grow up fast. During a casual discussion with media on Thursday, Beilein addressed his expectations for a few returning Wolverines, all players who will have a significant impact on Michigan’s on-court success next year. Move over A.J. McCarron, you’ve got some competition in the ridiculous tattoo department. Michigan basketball coach John Beilein throws out first pitch at Tigers game

Michigan basketball head coach John Beilein went out to Comerica Park to throw out the first pitch for the Detroit Tigers-Baltimore Orioles game on Tuesday.  He threw a solid pitch that made its way to the catcher quite easily.  It was nice to see Beilein in good spirits after suffering a tough loss in the National Championship game against Louisville in April. Former Michigan Guard Trey Burke’s Newest Tattoo (Photo)

One of the more interesting things about Trey Burke to me was always the fact that he is from Columbus, Ohio and ended up playing basketball at Michigan. Burke is scheduled to be a top 10 pick in the NBA Draft this week, and decided to add some new ink that you would have been [...]

Tuesday Bullets: Mitch McGary measured, recruiting notes

Mitch McGary measured in at the Nike Skills Academy in New Jersey yesterday at 6-foot-10 (with shoes) and 266 pounds (without shoes). McGary also measured with a 6-foot-11.5 wing span. Beilein: All 11 scholarship players could factor into rotation

Dustin Johnston Michigan’s NCAA tournament run that took it all the way to the national title game was obviously a huge positive for the program. It was terrific exposure and it legitimized Michigan, after a prolonged absence, as a member of college basketball’s elite once again. It also allowed high school basketball players to observe Michigan’s style of play — the smooth...

Dustin Johnston After two months of preparation, combines, flights, workouts and interviews, the 2013 NBA Draft is finally just days away. As Thursday night approaches, it becomes increasingly clear that it should be a very special night for not only Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. but also Michigan head coach John Beilein. Beilein, who is expected to attend the draft with Trey Burke...
