Senior guard Sean Kilpatrick figures the conference schedule won't be so brutal now that Cincinnati is out of the Big East.
The Bearcats revived their program in one of the nation's toughest basketball leagues. When the Big East morphed into a basketball-only league, Cincinnati was left in the American Athletic Conference, which will be in flux for the first two years.
Cincinnati returns a core of experienced players to go with five freshmen in the inaugural AAC season. Kilpatrick was fifth in the Big East with 17 points per game last season and is positioned to finish his career as one of Cincinnati's all-time leading scorers.
Senior forwards Justin Jackson and Titus Rubles need to turn into scorers near the basket.

Chris Bains, Matt Opper and I sat down at the (near) midpoint of the Cincinnati season to talk about how things have progressed. Chris runs Cincy on the Prowl. Matt runs Down the Drive. Both are excellent sites. You can follow them on twitter by clicking on their names.
This is a two part roundtable. This is the first part. The second part will be posted later this afternoon...
The Cincinnati Bearcats and Memphis Tigers will meet on Wednesday night in a match-up of two schools in the All-American Conference.
At 5-2 Cincinnati will be looking for a win over 1-5 Memphis as it fights to remain in contention for the top spot in the AAC. If nothing else this game serves as an option if you are not interested in watching Game 6 of the World Series.
The Cincinnati Bearcats are now on a three-game winning streak with tonight's 34-21 victory over the Memphis Tigers. The win moves the Bearcats to 6-2; 3-1 in AAC and makes the team bowl eligible.
A lot of little notes a day before UC football picks back up to the delight of us all. First off, if you missed the midseason Bearcats roundtable with Matt Opper from Down the Drive, Chris Bains from Cincy on the Prowl and myself, well don't miss it any longer. Here is part 1 and here is part 2.
Those lovely people are the 2013 inductees into the Bearcats...
