When Louisville and Kentucky met earlier this season on New Year’s Eve, Cardinal senior Kyle Kuric didn’t exactly have his best game. In fact, it’s fair to argue that the 69-62 loss to Kentucky earlier this season may have been Kuric’s worst career performance. In 38 minutes of action, he finished with just 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assists, and 4 fouls. To make matters worse, Kentucky’s starting small forward Michael Gilchrist finished with 24 points and 19 rebounds. Gilchrist put on one of the more impressive performances that this rivalry has ever seen. The freshman snagged the bragging rights from Louisville fans and took Kyle Kuric’s homecoming crown while he was at it.

The animosity between Kentucky and Louisville fans reached a boiling point on Tuesday, when a fan of the former was punched by a fan of the latter while hooked up to a dialysis machine.
