Game #8-059: Long Island Blackbirds at Penn State Nittany LionsNovember 16, 2011 7:00 pmBryce Jordan CenterBBState Stats/RecapLong Island came into Penn State trying to get their first win of the season after making the NCAA tournament last year. When Long Island were able to dictate play and push the pace to their style, they looked like the dominate team and took the lead on multiple occasions, but they slipped in the final few minutes and lost 77-68. I actually remembered to schedule myself off of work for this game and made it to the Bryce Jordan Center with plenty of time to get to my seats, even with a season high 5,258 fans in attendance. The curtains were drawn again in the upper deck and the student turnout was beyond pitiful. Once settled in and the game tipped off, the Long Island Blackbirds jumped out to an early lead, then the new scoreboard malfunctioned and there was an extended timeout to get it fixed. This seemed to kill the Blackbirds momentum and Penn State roared...
