One of the top targets for Rick Pitino’s 2014 recruiting class is 6-foot-10, 245-pound forward Trey Lyles.
The former Indiana commit was in Louisville over the weekend participating in the Kentucky vs. Indiana Junior All Star Game. Lyles has had Louisville towards the top of his list for quite some time and that doesn’t appear to be changing anytime soon.
The Indianapolis native told reporters following Saturday’s All Star game that he speaks with Rick Pitino a couple of times per week. Shortly after winning the national championship, Pitino traveled to Indianapolis for an in home visit.
It has been assumed for a couple of months now that Kentucky was the leader for Lyles, but Jerry Meyer, a national recruiting analyst frpm 247Sports.com seems to think Pitino’s hard work is paying off. Earlier this week Meyer predicted that Lyles would eventually commit to Louisville. He is also considering Butler, Duke and UCLA.
