It is hard to argue that any team has been more successful in the Big East than the Louisville Cardinals in recent history.  This 69-57 victory over Notre Dame, pushed the Cards to their 4th Big East Tournament Final in 5 years. Peyton Siva played his most complete game in a long time as he was seemingly all over the floor.  It was especially obvious on one play where he dove three rows into the stands to save the ball.  Then came back onto the defensive end and almost stole the ball for Notre Dame’s Jerian Grant.  You can tell that Peyton Siva has turned up his game and he realizes that these games really matter.  Siva finished with 12 Pts, 6 Ast, 7 Stls, and 3 Rbs.  Peyton Siva also passed Darrell Griffith as U of L’s all time steals leader, so congratulations to him! Siva’s running mate, Russ Smith, did have a couple of turnover that made you want to pull your hair out early in the game but towards the end of the game when the Cards needed to go on run, Russ led the attack.  Smith led the team in scoring once again while taking just as many shots as Peyton Siva, which is uncharacteristic of both Smith and Siva.  Both Smith and Siva are playing like All-Americans right now and it is fun to watch. After a down game against Villanova, Gorgui Dieng came out and recorded double digit rebounds.  Other than the first couple minutes when Garrick Sherman came into the game, the double team on the block worked out perfectly and the defense that Dieng and the rest of his mates played worked to perfection.  Chane Behanan has no doubt been struggling but he is bound to have a break out game at some point with the amount of attention that people are putting on Dieng lately. Luke Hancock is on fire.  Wayne Blackshear is not.  Not much more to it. Louisville will play basically a road game against Syracuse in the FINAL BIG EAST TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP!  If the Cards keep on playing like they have been…then its hard to imagine them coming out on the losing end.  If Louisville wins, it basically locks up a #1 seed for the NCAA tournament.  This should be fun! 8:30 P.M. EST on ESPN.
