The Memphis Tigers, coached by Josh Pastner, lost 76-72 to unranked (and undefeated) Murray State yesterday. John Calipari did not get credited with the loss, because John Calipari stopped coaching Memphis two and a half years ago, when Kentucky offered him $31.65 million and free membership to a country club. Nonetheless, John Calipari did get introduced as "head coach of the Memphis Tigers" by the Memphis PA announcer. Oh, that's awkward. <a href="http://deadspin.com/5867201/memphis-basketball-announcer-accidentally-introduces-head-coach-of-the-memphis-tigers-john-calipari" title="Click here to read more about Memphis Basketball Announcer Accidentally Introduces "Head Coach Of The Memphis Tigers, John Calipari!" It’s been nearly three years since John Calipari left Memphis for Kentucky, but don’t tell that to the Tigers’ PA announcer. This is not the smartest move that a PA announcer could make on his home turf. To refresh memories. John Calipari has not coached as the Memphis boss of the court for over two years. When a coach leaves your school to accept a large sum of money, it is probably not best to remind everyone. Too soon?

New University of Memphis football coach Justin Fuente said Sunday he is in the process of putting together his first staff, one that will include several members of the previous staff and a newcomer.
There are two words that the Memphis Tigers do not want to hear these, somewhat, low days, "John Calipari." Well, the Tigers PA announcer failed his job on Sunday when Memphis was preparing to start their home game against Murray State when he forgot that Josh Pastner is the guy standing a few feet away from him. "And the head coach of your Tigers, John Calipari," he said, inciting a chorus of boos from a fan base that clearly hasn't forgiven their former...
