Calipari
The Memphis Tigers, coached by Josh Pastner, lost 76-72 to unranked (and undefeated) Murray State yesterday. John Calipari did not get credited with the loss, because John Calipari stopped coaching Memphis two and a half years ago, when Kentucky offered him $31.65 million and free membership to a country club. Nonetheless, John Calipari did get introduced as "head coach of the Memphis Tigers" by the Memphis PA announcer. Oh, that's awkward. <a href="http://deadspin.com/5867201/memphis-basketball-announcer-accidentally-introduces-head-coach-of-the-memphis-tigers-john-calipari" title="Click here to read more about Memphis Basketball Announcer Accidentally Introduces "Head Coach Of The Memphis Tigers, John Calipari!" Memphis PA Announcer Introduces John Calipari as Tigers Coach (Video)

It’s been nearly three years since John Calipari left Memphis for Kentucky, but don’t tell that to the Tigers’ PA announcer. Memphis’ PA announcer introduced John Calipari as the Tigers’ coach prior to the team’s game against Murray State Sunday. That’s a bit of a problem, considering Josh Pastner is the team’s head coach. Indiana stuns No. 1 Kentucky 73-72 on final shot

Everybody knew John Calipari's closing strategy Saturday night. Everybody except his own players. On a night No. 1 Kentucky committed 17 turnovers and allowed a season-high point total, it was the simplest of things - missed free throws and the inability to foul - that allowed Christian Watford to knock off the nation's No. 1 team with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer that gave...

Memphis Tigers PA Announcer Introduces John Calipari As Head Coach. Welp?!?!

This is not the smartest move that a PA announcer could make on his home turf.  To refresh memories. John Calipari has not coached as the Memphis boss of the court for over two years.  When a coach leaves your school to accept a large sum of money, it is probably not best to remind everyone.   Too soon? Memphis PA Announcer probably Remembers the 07-08 Final Four Run Too

There are two words that the Memphis Tigers do not want to hear these, somewhat, low days, "John Calipari." Well, the Tigers PA announcer failed his job on Sunday when Memphis was preparing to start their home game against Murray State when he forgot that Josh Pastner is the guy standing a few feet away from him. Not John Calipari. More Information

Tough night for Memphis begins with PA announcer’s blunder

As he introduced the Memphis starting lineup before Sunday night's matchup with visiting Murray State, longtime Tigers public address announcer Chuck Roberts made a gaffe that will surely give him nightmares for weeks.
