Here's a sign the Mississippi State coaches don't have especially strict standards for Renardo Sidney: They consider it progress that the junior forward has neither lashed out at a teammate or coach during preseason workouts nor keeled over in the midst of a conditioning drill.
Mississippi State coach Rick Stansbury told the Jackson Clarion Ledger on Thursday that Sidney has been "a good teammate" so far this fall, adding that the Bulldogs "haven't had any blowups" from the talented but enigmatic big man. Stansbury also said Sidney is finishing conditioning drills for the first time in his Mississippi State career.
"That doesn't mean he was winning every race," Stansbury said, "but he made it through it. For him, that's a step in the right direction. We've just got to keep stepping the right way and not step back."
