Jabari Parker has impressed me very much in these first few games this season. The freshman is playing lights out for Coach K and the Blue Devils so far this season. He’s averaging 22.8 points and 8.8 rebounds a game so far. He has the chance to be the best Duke player since Grant Hill and it looks like he is taking advantage of the opportunity. There are three highly touted freshmen in this year’s class. The three are Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, and Julius Randle. Out of the three, I have been most impressed with Parkers game. The way he lets the game come to him and doesn’t force anything makes him look wise beyond his years. The poise Jabari plays the game with is second to none in college basketball. For a kid that young to not be phased by seemingly anything on the court is unreal. In the game against Kansas, he displayed his full arsenal. He played good defense, showed his athleticism with a few dunks, and he showcased his shooting ability. He had 27 points 9 rebounds and 1 assist. The matchup with Wiggins never seemed to cross his mind; it was all about getting his team a win.   Make that 5 in a row. Jabari Parker scores 20+ points for 5th straight game. 2nd longest streak to start a season in Duke history. — Numbers Never Lie (@ESPN_Numbers) November 20, 2013 One of the most surprising things about Jabari is the way Coach K uses him. He plays the 4 and 5 positions on defense and plays primarily out of the post of offense. His 6’8” 235-pound frame allows him to use his skills on the low block. It’s rare to see a player that can get the rebound start the fast break, go coast to coast and jam in someone’s face play the 4 and 5 positions in college. Tonight against East Carolina Jabari had 21 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assist and a block. He was everywhere on the court and he helped propel his team to a hard fought win in Durham. It is still very early in the season and Parker has to be consistent throughout the year. He has an excellent coach in Coach K and an awesome supporting cast. Forward Rodney Hood has been a big help; he scored 30 tonight against Eastern Carolina. The freshman has the chance to be the best player in the nation and right now I don’t think you’ll find many people who will disagree with that. 1 add to this note: Jabari Parker is the 1st D-I freshman to score 20 in team's 1st 5 games since Michael Beasley AND ERIC GORDON in 2007-08 — ESPN Stats & Info (@ESPNStatsInfo) November 20, 2013 The post My Thoughts on Jabari Parker appeared first on UTSN.
