So let me get this straight, he’s 6’10”, can block your shot from the bench, a freak athlete, future NBA star, and he can rap? That’s just not fair. Nerlens Noel makes his rap debut with Lexington native Wes Grams. If that name sounds familiar, Grams also rapped with former Kentucky star Terrence Jones in their song “Teach me ’bout Kentucky.” Noel sounds a lot better than Jones and has some really good flow. While his career aspirations will still involve the basketball, Noel could make his mark in the music industry too. Towards the end of the rap, he gives us a hint on whether he’s jumping to the NBA after this season. He says “I might come back, but I don’t know yet.” YouTube Credit to: Wes Grams

Nerlens Noel Is Releasing A Rap Song Tonight

Since Kentucky basketball star Nerlens Noel tore his ACL in February, he’s had some free time on his hands. What has he been doing, you ask? Rapping. That’s right, rapping.  Noel tweeted about his new rap song that will be released at 8 p.m. tonight. The song has been reportedly called “Number 9.” We’ll have it for you as soon as we can get our hands on it. #BBN y’all...

Nerlens Noel releases rap song

Kentucky’s freshman center, Nerlens Noel, is out for the season with a torn ACL. A potential top 5 pick in the 2013 NBA Darft, Noel is still making headlines after recording a rap song with Lexington’s Wes Grams. Noel’s free-style doesn’t happen until the 1:50 mark in the video, but consists of one liners such as “tore my ACL but still make it to the pros.” Also potential...

Video: Nerlens Noel is spending his rehab rapping

The Kentucky Wildcats most likely weren’t looking at national title #9 this season, even if star freshman Nerlens Noel didn’t tear his ACL. But that isn’t stopping him from showing support that they can somehow win another, as evidence by his appearance in this rap video by Lexington rapper Wes Grams. This seems rather appropriate, consideirng that Noel sports the same hairstyle...

Mizzou’s Alex Oriakhi Not Impressed With Nerlens Noel Rapping

Last night, Nerlens Noel and Wes Grams dropped a new rap track titled “NUMBER 9″, an obvious reference to Kentucky’s drive to earn its ninth NCAA Championship. Noel rapped about many things, including his flat-top, his injury, and whether he’ll come back to Kentucky for another year. While reviews have been mixed, we know where Mizzou center Alex Oriakhi stands: @nerlensnoel3...

Are the Kentucky Wildcats going to make the NCAA Tournament?

The Kentucky Wildcats are in trouble for the postseason. From national champs to the NIT? It could happen. They lost a ton of talent to “the league” last year, but rebuilt with new blue-chippers. However, once Nerlens Noel went down, so did their NCAA Tourney stock. And then came last night, the first time that Georgia defeated Kentucky by 10 or more points since 1996. Kentucky...

Kentucky Wildcats superfan Ashley Judd running for U.S. Senate

A fixture at all big Kentucky Wildcats college basketball games, famous actress Ashley Judd is a UK superfan. Now the photogenic actress is taking up another activity away from acting. Given Kentucky’s chances of actually doing anything this March, maybe it’s the right time. She won’t be missing anything. Ashley Judd will still be a partisan in blue; just Democratic Party blue...

Kentucky Sweet 16 Recap: Q-finals

Kentucky coach John Calipari has beckoned his team to display toughness and a will to win for the greater part of what has been a trying season for the Wildcats. On Friday, he saw a prospect show all of that and more in the quarterfinals of the KHSAA Boys Sweet 16.

It’s Still Kentucky

Wipe away the records or recent success or maybe lack of success. When Florida rolls into town in Lexington on Saturday, they know this is still ‘Big Blue’ they are facing. The Kentucky Wildcats program is the shining light for the SEC in most seasons. A year away from a national title, things may not be as rosy as they have been. But this is still Kentucky the Gators are facing...

Preview: #11 Florida vs. Kentucky

It seems so long ago since the ‘Cats had won 5 straight games and were heading into Gainesville looking like they had finally turned the corner for their season. All the pieces were coming together, and seemingly ready to pounce on another shot at an SEC Championship. After the Gators brought everyone back to reality, Nerlens Noel goes down with a devastating ACL injury. The ...
