Michigan coach John Beilein says the sky is not falling after losing to last-place Penn State. Beilein does acknowledge that February was not ''kind'' to his team. He's hoping No. 4 Michigan bounces back to beat No. 9 Michigan State on Sunday at home. The Wolverines lost four of seven games last month after winning 20 of its first 21 games and climbing to No. 1 in The Associated Press poll for the first time in two decades. During the slump, Michigan got beat by 23 points against the Spartans and blew a 15-point lead Wednesday that allowed the Nittany Lions to win their first Big Ten game this season. The ninth-ranked Spartans have been losing lately, too, losing two straight games for the first time this season.

Burke's defensive plays help Michigan bounce back

It was exactly the type of game that John Beilein's Michigan team had seemed incapable of winning. The Wolverines missed every 3-pointer they took and were stuck in a bruising struggle against a physical Michigan State team. Then, in the final minute, Trey Burke made perhaps Michigan's biggest play of the season - on defense. Burke's steal and dunk put the Wolverines...

With all of the offensive prowess that Burke displays, those two swipes may go down as his career highlights. Trey Burke...

Ferris State plays part of overtime with 7 guys on the ice against Michigan and almost wins

The Ferris State Bulldogs and Michigan Wolverines were in a battle for CCHA playoff seeding on Friday and Saturday night.  After falling to Michigan on Friday night, the Bulldogs needed a win to get home ice against Ohio State in the playoffs.  Ferris State pulled their goalie in overtime because a win in a shootout wouldn’t help them move past Ohio State.  I don’t know how...

Notebook: Michigan staying positive after Penn State loss

Dustin Johnston At one point during Michigan’s shocking loss to Penn State in Happy Valley, fans watched a visibly frustrated John Beilein get in Nik Stauskas’s face after the freshman presumably missed a defensive assignment. It was a side of Michigan’s coach fans are unfamiliar with — Beilein is more often seen putting his arm around a player and explaining than slamming...

With Josh, we addressed some of the difficulties...

Michigan 58, Michigan State 57

Dustin Johnston Michigan limped into Sunday’s Michigan State rematch on life support. With Michigan State, which led by 31 points with 1:27 to play in the first meeting, coming to town there was little confidence among Wolverine faithful...
