Score: Louisville 73, Notre Dame 57 Star(s): Louisville Gorgui Dieng 20 Pts, 11 Reb, 5 Blks Story: Louisville had this game circled on its calendar for several weeks. Since losing an unbelievable five-overtime game in South Bend earlier this season, the Cardinals had won six straight — but what they really wanted was a little revenge. Combine that with Senior Night, and the KFC Yum! Center was riled up and ready to go. The Cardinals controlled this game from the get-go with hot shooting and tons of defensive energy. Notre Dame had been playing great defense as of late — holding three of their past four opponents under 43 total points — but seemed to have no answers for how to slow Louisville’s attack. Peyton Siva pushed the tempo and made it difficult for the Irish, particularly in transition. This led to many layups and easy buckets — Louisville shot 51% from the floor on the night. The Irish were playing without star freshman Cameron Biedschied, who was suspended after getting in a fight during the St. John’s game earlier in the week. Without his slashing ability, Notre Dame struggled to establish any offensive rhythm, especially with Jerian Grant ice-cold (2-12 from the field). There were no heroics at the end of this one, and with the win Louisville claims a three-way share of the Big East regular-season title with Georgetown and Marquette. When the Big East Tournament starts later this week, the Cardinals will be the top seed, and the Irish earn a single bye by finishing sixth in the conference. Awesome sign from the #Louisville #NotreDame game yfrog.com/oe3lffyj — Chris Mangan (@HookTSB) March 9, 2013   Louisville, Marquette, and Georgetown are the co-Big East regular season champions. There will be no ties next Saturday night at MSG. — Matt Ryan (@Matlanta1989) March 9, 2013   Louisville isnt gonna be the same with those seniors. But with them leaving better ones are coming — Aaron Luster (@Aaron_Luster) March 9, 2013
