Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski took his team on an interesting little field trip this past week, letting his Blue Devils go on a tour of West Point – his alma mater. Apparently the players really enjoyed both practicing with and taking pictures with some of the massive assault rifles on campus. Don’t worry though, it was just gun simulation training.  Very interested to see how this somewhat jarring pic moves through the Internet … — Nick Fasulo (@nickfasuloSBN) October 13, 2013 .@Duke_MBB took in West Point today, complete with gun simulation training. #DukeElevate — Blue Devil Network (@BlueDevil_NTWRK) October 12, 2013 While it’s a jaw-dropping set of photos, it’s obvious that it was meant to be in good fun. Duke Basketball Players Get Gun Simulation Training, Take Target Practice With Assault Rifles (Photos)

The Duke basketball team will fire off a lot of shots this season. Normally they’ll be doing so with a basketball, though. Mike Krzyzewski took his team on a trip to his alma mater over the weekend, showing them around Army’s Westpoint campus and giving them a quick snapshot into the life of a cadet. The players even got some hands-on training with weapons during a special gun...

Duke men's basketball team poses with assault rifles (PHOTOS)

Serious looking photos of members of the Duke men's basketball team holding automatic assault rifles were posted on some of the Blue Devils' personal Facebook pages Saturday and had some people wondering what the shots depicted or if they were in bad taste. Deadspin later explained that the Dukies and their M-4 carbines were part of the team's four-day fall break...

The Duke Blue Devils against the Pittsburgh Panthers

The Duke Blue Devils and the Pittsburgh Panthers will be a great match up this year; the only problem is that it will only be played once.  It will be a game at Pittsburgh on January 27.  This is another team that could compete for an ACC title this season.  This could be a big game for both teams since they won’t be able to play each other twice like most teams in the conference...

2013-2014 Duke Basketball Squad Profiles - Rasheed Sulaimon

One of the true and constant bright lights of last season was the guy I nicknamed “Su-Su-Sulaimon” after the Phil Collins song.  Quick and dangerous from anywhere on the court, the 6-foot-4 190 pound guard never seemed to have a learning-curve like most freshmen as he fit right into a starting role. By Bermuda Bob One of the aspects that, I believe, was responsible for his...
