The Cardinal Connect:
Rick Pitino met with the media on Wednesday afternoon to preview Thursday’s match-up against Memphis. The Cards will have their first home game of the conference slate as they host the No. 24 ranked Tigers. Here is a brief recap of Pitino’s presser.
Memphis’ Joe Jackson
They have four terrific guards, they’re very unselfish. He’s a terrific basketball player. We were getting blown out in that game and we were able to turn him over a few times and that was a difference.
They do a lot of things that North Carolina does. Their transition game is very similar.
The Infamous White Suite

Mangok Mathiang’s Development
I see strides but they’re baby stories. Big guys just take longer than guards to mature. I don’t think he’s going to get any bigger physical. He’s to the point where he can’t eat anymore. He’s just staying at 210 pounds. It is what it is with him and that’s what you live with.

For the second time this season, Cincinnati scored 69 points and quite handily beat a team from Tennessee. Only this time the team they took down was the previously ranked 18th team in the country and conference rival of the past and future, Memphis Tigers. Cincinnati had a chance at 6 huge wins when conference play rolled around. The rest of the wins are solid or alright, no offense...
