...You could be the next contestant on Duke Basketball's wild and crazy offseason roller coaster. Or at the very least he will be stopping by for a visit.

The omage to the Price Is Right aside, the Blue Devil's offseason has felt a bit like a roller coaster or a game show with a few ups and seemingly more downs. Up until last week's decision by Amile Jefferson to commit to Duke, it has been an offseason worth forgetting.

Jefferson's decision stopped the bleeding and if Hood, a 6-foot-8 forward decides to transfer to Duke, it would continue the recent upswing in momentum.

Hood as a freshman for Mississippi State, averaged 10.3 points and 4.7 rebounds for the Bulldogs. He certainly has the athleticism to be a contributor for the Blue Devils once he becomes eligible during the 2013-2014 season.

Hood is scheduled to visit Duke next week during Duke's K-Academy Fantasy Camp, according to the Durham Herald Sun.

Hood is said to be down to three schools including Duke, Ohio State and Florida State. On Wednesday though the Florida State Rivals.com page indicated that Hood was down to just Ohio State and Duke.

It is widely known that Hood grew up as a Duke fan, and while he had interest in the Blue Devils, Duke did not offer him a scholarship back in 2009. That lack of interest though has changed and the Blue Devils coaching staff has been pursuing Hood.

Hood did fall off the radar a bit thanks to everyone waiting on Jefferson, but now that the recruiting season, as far as Duke is concerned is over, Hood remains the last real target to add anyone for the upcoming season.

However, like I mentioned earlier, he will not be eligible to play until 2013, though his contributions in practice could certainly help next year's Blue Devil squad.

We will keep an eye on any news coming from the Hood visit. So far no time table has been set for his decision.
