Citizens, return to your homes. Louisville has collectively returned from the ledge after Monday’s not-so-convincing win over the Pittsburgh Panthers at the Yum! Center. For now. Gorgui Dieng showed more of what Cardinal fans have been longing for all year. Forget the scoring for a moment, because putting up a line that includes 12 rebounds, five blocks, and four assists from the center position is noteworthy in itself. Dieng has to draw attention because of his size and ability around the rim, so being able to facilitate from his position adds an entirely different twist for opponents. He’s beyond smart enough to make good decisions in that role, so hopefully Rick Pitino will look for more from Gorgui in that capacity. Of course, the blocks and rebounds aren’t a surprise to those who follow the team religiously.
