PLAYERS: Shabazz Muhammad
TEAMS: UCLA Bruins
Five of the last six #1 overall picks in the NBA Draft have been one and done college players who only went to college to fine tune their skills as they prepared to head off to the NBA. This season should be no different with guys like Nerlens Noel, Ben McLemore, and UCLA’s Shabazz Muhammad all entering the draft after one college season. Muhammad had a rough freshman season in what was supposed to be a simple display of his talents as he prepared to be the #1 pick in 2013. Muhammad has caught his share of flak, but as he continues to prepare for the NBA Draft, he definitely thinks he’s the best player in this years draft according to The Washington Post.  UCLA freshman swingman Shabazz Muhammad: “I know I’m a great player. I’m a guy that believes he’s the best player in the draft.” #NBAdraft — Michael Lee (@MrMichaelLee) May 20, 2013 I’m sure Muhammad will again receive some criticism for his comments. Perhaps the highest-profile player in the past half-decade at UCLA has also been the most polarizing for casual fans of college hoops and college basketball analysts alike. From the get-go, Muhammad was put under a microscope, his every action scrutinized—on the court and off of it.  This is expected. Muhammad was billed as a transcendent talent, a player many projected would...
