Michigan State head coach is hoping to get an early Christmas present Thursday afternoon when mega-recruit Jabari Parker decides where he’ll be playing college basketball.  The six-foot-eight forward from Simeon Career Academy in Chicago, Illinois is scheduled to make a nationally-televised announcement on whether he will attend Michigan State, Duke, Stanford, Florida or Brigham Young.  Parker is listed as the nation’s #2 or 3 recruit behind Andrew Wiggins of Huntington, West Virginia and Julius Randle of Plano, Texas. As I’m sure is the case with Mike Krzyzewki, Dave Rose at BYU, Johnny Dawkins at Stanford and Billy Donovan at Florida, Izzo is excited as he anticipates Parker’s move.  He indirectly talked about Parker on Monday: “It’s a big week, but in recruiting, sometimes you have regrets.  I have no regrets about what we’ve done in recruiting this year. I decided to do it a certain way, and we’ve done it that way. We didn’t sign anybody early. So I actually feel great about everything.” Recruitniks assume that MSU and Duke are the two most likely candidates for Parker’s new home, but the high school senior has said as recently as last week that he hasn’t made up his mind. One aspect that is absolutely meaningless to the commitment, but a weird coincidence, especially for Izzo – Parker’s high school’s nickname is the Wolverines.
