For the second time in the last five days, a Buffalo Big 4 team has defeated the Cornell Big Red.
Behind the great efforts from Javon McCrea and Mitchell Watt, the Bulls defeated Cornell 68-59 on Wednesday night.
Buffalo’s defense was stifling throughout as they limited Cornell to only 24-points in the first half and under 40% shooting for the game.
The Bulls also dominated on the boards as they held a 38-25 rebounding advantage.
Javon McCrea and Mitchell Watt had nearly identical numbers for UB on the night as they led the Bulls to the victory.
McCrea finished with a double-double as he record 19-points, 10-rebounds, 2-assists, 1-steal, and 3-blocks.
Watt finished with nearly the exact same stat-line as he recorded 19-points, 9-rebounds, 2-assists, 1-steal, and 3-blocks.
Zach Filzen was the only other Bulls player to score in double digits as he finished with 11-points.
With the win, UB moves to 2-0 and next plays November 19th when they take on another Ivy League team in the Princeton Tigers.
