On Saturday afternoon, Massachusetts traveled to The Ryan Center to take on Rhode Island. The visitors from Amherst found themselves with four point lead at the half (37-33) thanks to half court heave as time expired by Chaz Williams. After the intermission, the Minutemen attacked from both inside and outside. In the second half, they shot over 50% from the floor, including 6 for 9 from beyond the arc resulting in 75 to 66 victory. Following the game, Andrew Greene had chance to chat with Massachusetts head man, Derek Kellogg. The two discussed his half time message to the team, the second half offensive success, and preparing for the Atlantic 10 Tournament.
